Adipose
Lol! Running a serious wrinkly character this time. Much more fitting given my time of life. Thing is, I can't decide how to play him. Given the unreal nature of gameplay in Skyrim, my guy...who looks like he's eithera very hard lived 80+ or 90+ going on a gazillion...could run, fight and frolic as freely as a 20 year old, with a few restrictions built in by the creator. Realistically, I should probably play him as some sort of caster but it's reallytempting to just run him as a carefree conveyor of cutting carnage. Kind of likePratchett's "Cohen the Barbarian". Hmmmm, yeah, I've always liked the Cohenrole model. Hmmmm, liking it more and more. Later folks. Got some thinking to do.
Sonreac
Cohen is the greatest. *sage nod* Now, I need to design a suitcase - with mandatory legs - to go forth and destroy my enemies in the name of the great Hogfather. *another sage nod*

The literary world lost one of its' brightest stars when Terry went. Also, "Dune" is a classic standalone. Unfortunately, Herberts' sequels oft left a bit to be desired...at least IMO. "Chapterhouse" was totally up to snuff, however. Hmmm, wonder if the Nexus would develop a forum sight just for old(er) players?
Boombro
ealistically, I should probably play him as some sort of caster but it's reallytempting to just run him as a carefree conveyor of cutting carnage.Who cares about realism? You wanna play him as a warrior? Simply do so, you are playing him for fun right? If so, I use this build for my treasure hunter run. I call it, the bound warrior. You simply cast armor spells, summon a battle axe and heal vis spells. It an item free build (I don't use potions with it.) and holy you can get rich. You can rp it that the spells makes him much stronger than he his and the summon axe is light as a breeze. Thus, he is a mage, but you can rampage around like you want. With the right mods, you wont need lock picks or wood cutter axes and pickaxes. It all magic after all. There is also a house mod that is in a snow globe. You can also play him like an old orc warrior. Edited September 29, 2016 by Boombro
Sonreac
You know, it was only recently that I even learned that he passed, at the local library at that. It literally blew my mind. The same as when I learned that David Eddings passed away. For the longest time, I wanted to know why it was that I hadn't seen any books by him... And then I found out why. *sigh* Bye-bye Aunt Pol. Yeah, I found out about Zelazny in just about the same way. Kinda messed me up for about a day. Too bad that he left the "Amber" series with an unfinished feel to it. Ah well, maybe Amber is the hereafter and I'll get to see how it all wound up...though it's really a never ending story. I'm really picky about books, so much so that I'll pick a possible purchase off the shelf, go get a coffee, and then read the first chapter and another chapter in the middle of the book. If I'm still into the story after that I'll usually give it a go at the cash register. That means that my list of regular reads is limited, and every time one of those authors dies the list just gets shorter. Fortunately I've cottoned on to a few fromthe newer generation...people like Stross, Aaronovitch, and Carriger. Happy days as long as the aging eyes still work. Usually though I'm one of those old hardcore, reality freaks...well, reality within the framework of an imaginary world in which magic works. 'Sides, I kinda want to find out if I can take a truly aged character to the end of the game without cutting him any slack. With that in mind I've installed a lot of mods for my game that make it really brutal. I use Alternate Start andI don't think I've ever employed sneak, hiding and running so often in a game. I mean, my old guy is at the mercy of everything...with the exception of mud crabs, and they'll get me if I don't whack like crazy. Then, of course, I'm totallyexhausted and need to wait an eternity for my magicka and stamina to come back up. Makes one think and plan ahead. Signette
Illusionist-Summoner with occasional Destruction magic blend in would be nice I guess. Some time ago I was also roleplaying character who is not fond of fighting by himself, was pretty unique and fun experience as I recall.
Sonreac
You know....That's the one thing I missed from Oblivion. Mysticism. I wanted to play an Orc shaman...but you're really just stuck with a few "mage" types of gameplay unless you really mod yourself like crazy. That's why I downloaded this mod here: Mysticism -- The Lost Art by bluedanieru. I have to be honest, once I downloaded that I actually started playing as a raging barbarian with some Ogreish tendencies.

Well, how about alchemy, he made himself or found a great potion that grant him strength till the end of his days? How about being blessed by a deity, or that being dragonborn or getting dragon souls grants him more power? But yeah, other than being an orc, I don't see how an old man with no back ground of fitness can live in Skyrim without magic. You can make it that he is more bold while drunk lol.
