Looking for a decent set of armor

I'm looking for a set of light armor. Nothing in particular.

-Something that goes well with Skyrim's style

-Not based off of vanilla stuff

-Offers a feasible armor rating for its weight and materials

-Not super flashy

-Good for Khajiit?

-Similar to leather but not leather

-Not Apotheosis armor

-Darker colors, red and brown? Grey?

-Craftable and upgradable

 

Anyone have any suggestions?

well you know you can always change armor values using TES5edit so that removes a point and makes the search easier.

No it doesn't. I don't want TG look-alike armors or upped leather armor. I'm looking for something professionally made.

yes i was just saying that if you find an armor that looks good but has low armor value you can always edit it using TES5Edit (same for weight and materials) .

If you want something lore-friendly check out Immersive Armors, they all are pretty high quality and not too flashy, good leather and fur variants too + huge variety, check out screenshots/videos to decide.

I've already done that and I don't like any of them. Right now I've settled for Rough Leather Armor, and it looks good but I want something a bit...more? I really liked the Oblivion leather armor and I'd convert any mods myself but I don't know how to skin meshes in Blender yet.

I have the same problem with finding good armor for a stealthy- type character! No craftable hoods or cloaks...

 

It's not entirely craftable, but I really like how Leather Armor/ Gloves/ Bracers paired with the Shrouded Cowl Maskless looks. That's the closest thing I have...

As to personal favorite?

 

heavy: Dragon Knight for Heavy

(the 2nd or 3rd highest...but the best looking high one)

 

for light:

Ritual Armor of Boethiah !

 

Again, the 2nd or 3rd highest..and by FAR the best looking

 

but of course, the question (& answers) are subjective

 

For example people go nuts over the hugest damage Alduin Scales Amor...and yet I find it the ugliest armor (no exaggeration) of any I've seen

Plus its gauntlets' partially block my view with the Zephyr bow

When you say similar to leather but not leather I'm assuming you still mean something that still really looks like armor, however have you come across www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44592 ? It looks like very warm & heavily padded woollen travel clothes - very lore friendly but not vanilla based, with black, brown, forest green & multi coloured variants. It is a really well done mod that I wouldn't be without as it is absolutely perfect for believable armoured clothing in a cold environment.

I've never played as or dressed a Khajiit, but I think they would look great in this armor, & it would still allow them to move freely - like in Morrowind when the acrobatics & martial arts that they excelled in were still a thing ... :D
