Are you guys tired of Follower mods that are flooding in the skyrim nexus?

If you make mods just to get famous and have fotm, you're doing it wrong.

Side note: Noticed your picture. Are you the actor who did the ghoul in

?

Anyway...

A lot of people crank out followers to get FOTM. That's why so many people create threads like this and get upset when there's nothing but followers on Hot Files.

Q: Are you guys tired of those posts complaining about follower mods that are flooding the nexus forums?

A: Yes, VERY tired.

Q2: If you were to measure how tired you are of those posts and how tired you are are (if you are) of follower mods, which one will win?

A2: The posts, no doubt, can't hide them.

Regarding the specific hot files just for followers, First of all why are follower mods different than other mods to the point of having a separate hot files. Second, if a mod category wins consistently the hot files you would separate that category? i'd say no. Would be like discriminating a nation that consistently wins a specific olympic competition (hypothetical) = nonsense.

You think that boring, how about those monthly "why there is boobs all the time in the hot files for the teenage virgins who never date." or "That 4k dress made from zero is not worthy of hot files cus it slutty."

It not nexus forums if there is was none, at least once a month a post should show up.

I'm sure more then one REAL mod maker has felt this pain ... (and some just stop creating good content mods over it i'm sure)

You really think some are that pathetic?

Hot mods are hot mods. A mod that adds a pet chicken that does nothing can be a hot and top file over a mod that adds a 100 perfect long quests as long as people like that pet chicken.

Pissed that there nothing you like on the hot files? Move on. The only thing you can do is make a youtube channel to review mods, hit it big and this make those mods more known.

I missed the "and some just stop creating good content mods over it i'm sure" part previously. I must say if some mod author stops making his content because a category of mods he dislikes floods nexus hotfiles then that mod author (and whoever thought this is logical) is:

A) Modding for the wrong reason (or not understanding the point of modding), modding is supposed to be done for fun, not for the glory of having hot files... if there was money then ok, but the posible money income of donations is ridiculous compared to the time taken on most mods. It's just a way of apreciation and maybe you can spend the money of donations on upgrading the PC to be able to mod more? (That's what i do at least, that's what paid my recent ram and ssd upgrade basically, plus a bit of my own) or just having a drink or whatever. But it's not like you are making business here. So what's the point?

B) Weak, metally speaking, if anything, mods you dislike flooding the nexus' hot files should encourage you to conquer the hot files with your mods. And if your mod is not reaching hot files then make it better so that it does. It's perfectly possible to cut through the follower mods with any mod category if the mod is good.

C) Not really getting the meaning of hotfiles, what is in hotfiles is what people have endorsed the most in each week, nothing less, nothing more. Doesn't mean it's good or bad. it's heavily dependant on views. In fact, downloads being an order of magnitude lower than views and endorsement one lower than downloads (donations, if enabled, way below of course) is true for the vast mayority of mods. And, in any case, what is most liked by people doesn't mean anything, some people like music that is less popular, being less popular means it's worse? means less popular music makers should give up because they don't reach the top charts? No, they simply make the music they like for themselves and the people that like it.

And yes, this is just my opinion, take it however you want.

I'm not sure why I should explain anything here when clearly this is just a troll bait thread.

I'll give it a try ...

A) I have over 20 mods and few dozen more incomplete over the years. I have not uploaded any of them.

Surly I create them for the enjoyment of designing and playing them.

B) I personally don't dislike any mod for Skyrim. As far as followers go I don't even use them or I use my own.

In truth I create mods 90% of the time I'm even working/playing around with Skyrim. (don't think I've ever been past level 30)

C) Completely understand hotfiles and how they work. (what's not to get)

D,E,F,G) I also love to install and try out mods of all types. Maybe more then playing the game at all. So ... my reason for even coming to the Nexus

is to see whats new this week and try out something cool maybe. I seen some really great follower mods the authors took the time to create and entire

outfit weapons and even lore. But, when all you're seeing for weeks is cookie cutter oversexed follower mods it gets old. I'm hoping for well, something a little more.

Again this is just my opinion take it or leave it ...

So you can stop with the ego trips at this point it getting ridiculous.

Apparently I'm super mad, super insecure, need to examine my priorities in life, only create mods to get famous, can not understand how hotfiles are work, created a thread to chat with myself and crave cookies ... phew

* Hilarious *

I agree with Handsomex

"I myself actually don't really understand why my follower mod made it to the 2nd place in the hot files by now.

It was my first attempt with the Creation Kit ever and I think it turned out to be rather bad. I also don't understand who all those people are who download and endorse so many follower mods.

Personally I barely ever use followers and created this one just so I can bring my old character in a new game and also thought why not release her. It would be really great if people

value big and unique works more. And I'm certain mine is neither of both, that's why I plan a bigger mod now. At least the endorsements encouraged me to do so sort of.

On the other hand I don't think follower modders are to blame for their hot files. People are just getting what they want."

And I also understand creating a follower is a great way to start modding at all. So now that that's out of the way the only thing left is the original question ...

Are you guys tired of Follower mods that are flooding in the skyrim nexus?

Yes I am ...

Cookie cutter followers in my opinion are getting old ... When I think of Hotfiles and Mod of the Month to me that should be two different things.

Maybe it's time you asked yourself's why you feel the need to to cry over someone else's opinions on anything ...

Correct me if I was wrong, but pretty much every quest mod that turns out to be good rockets to the hot files in a week, like the new game one that I can't spell. Same for gameplay mods. Any good mod easily becomes top. clock work became a hot files rapidly for example.

and let go over how people test these mods:

A follower:

-looks at pictures.

-downloads mods.

-see that it works.

-endorse it.

All in the span of a 10 mins.

A quest or dungeon mod.

-Plays the hours long mod after downloading in an hour.

-like it.

-Endrose.

*don't do the last two steps if you hate it.*

It just light years easier for follower mods to get the to hot files since they are safe and not buggy cus they look good, and since you only need pictures to know that they fit your taste, that it. It effortless. While I do have to play the big projects, and I myself wait till a youtbe showcases it to see if it good in the first place.

Yeah, we know it not.

What this comes down to is that some people are super insecure and the very idea that people like things they don't makes them mad.

Someone commented this on a f4 mod.

No, I actually love tits, what I don't love is unrealistically large tits three times the size of a human head, with aureola the size of dinner plates and nipples with the diameter and length of a milk bottle .

That adds NOTHING to the gameplay, yet it's horny teens who are making these "unessential to gameplay" mods always featured in hotfiles, despite their freakish sideshow nature.

Holy Crap, I'm all about Nudity and boobs, but only if they're realistic.

He takes the stuff personally. These people want quest and gameplay mods to come out weekly and that everyone likes them.

The fact the there people who think mods should be realistic (in a fantasy game mind you.) and carter to gameplay only baffles me, since they are playing beth games for realism. Like why skyrim, play risen, stalker, the long dark or something.

Just a couple of things,

There are 3 steps in understanding: believing you know, realising you don't and then, actual understanding. Just repeating step 1 doesn't get you step 3.

Saying stuff like a custom hot file section just for follower mods is nonsense, because it will eventually lead to not-so-good mods flooding the hotfile section (and the ocasional good but underrated mod), why? because good mods usually take time. That's why from time to time a good mod appears and easily gets to hot files, in the meantime, you have quick, functional, beautiful or sexually appealing (depends on tastes and paraphilias ofc) mods, people download, and endorse "in bulk", Boombro's post above is spot on.

I seen some really great follower mods the authors took the time to create and entire outfit weapons and even lore. But, when all you're seeing for weeks is cookie cutter oversexed follower mods it gets old. I'm hoping for well, something a little more.

And i'd like awesome weapon or quest mods everyday but there are only so many modders making them and it takes time, because modders are not slaves making content 24/7.

And nobody is crying on your opinion lol. If you expected silence after you said your opinion, because your opinion is sacred and noone can disagree with it, then i guess a forum is not the right place.

That little more can't appear weekly and you have to live with that fact.
