Theonetheycalldovakhiin
Hey everyone,Without spoiling anything (or spoiling too much), is there a way to both side with the raiders in Nuka World and not have your allies in the Commonwealth flip out about it? I've basically just spoken to Gage at fizztop mountain so it's not like I'm very far into NW. But I was reading about the dlc and saw that if you side with the raiders they might invade settlements previously built, or you'll lose your affinity with factions you sided with or something along those lines (minutemen and institute if it makes a difference). I like the idea of being the raider king but don't want it to affect my Commonwealth standings. Is there also a mod that might do the same thing? Thanks! Fonger
your settlements go poof as you convert them to raider control 2 courses of action 1 - go raider and get the achievemts 2 - massacre the raiders and play as a "nice" person selective saves can do this in one play through just don't raise a raider flag before your "selective save"
Moraelin
Actually, yeah, there are mods and other ways. 1. Grab this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18121/? Then just retake the park for te raiders, choose the no violence option when Shank wants you to raid the Commonwealth, and skip directly to Power Play. The Minutemen won't be any wiser, as long as you don't actually raid in MA. 2. If you never met Preston before, you don't even need mods. Then you can do all the raiding you want, get your achievements and raider perks, THEN rescue Garvey. He'll then give you the Open Season quest, and won't join you until you finish it. And at this stage pretty much it means you have to wipe out your whole raider empire for Garvey. While the quest only says you have to kill the leaders, in practice now you have filled the park and the Commonwealth with some well armed and very hostile raiders who'll shoot at you on sight. If you want to own again the settlements you gave the raiders, you'll have to shoot some 20 pissed-off raiders with AK-47's before you can even touch the workbench. Not that it's that hard, mind you, but it's still something to keep in mind. Then Preston will join you and make you the General and all. And it's like you've never been a raider in your whole life. 3. I haven't actually tested this, but IIRC the Open Season quest doesn't actually fail if you complete the raider path. You can still change your mind and wipe them all out AFTER you've got your perks anyway. And SUPPOSEDLY -- but mind you, I haven't tested it -- that should get Preston happy again. 4. And if not, actually, who cares? I think Preston stops shooting at you after a few days. Assuming you don't keep attacking more settlements and killing more minutemen in the process, anyway. He'll still be too butthurt to be your companion, but supposedly you can still do the Minutemen ending if you wish. You'll still be the worst general ever, but, eh, they'll nuke the Institute or the BOS with you anyway. And, frankly, does anyone actually WANT Preston as a companion? If he's with you all the time, you can't even avoid him. He'll be right behind you with "Another settlement needs our help." All the time. 5. Well, if you actually can't live without Preston following you, I'd just click him and "setav ca_affinity 249" and see what happens. I haven't tried it, and I don't know if his conversations depend on more factors than his hating you or not. But it's worth a try, I guess. Mavkiel
Go nuka world. After doing minutemen up to getting the castle + artillery. There is a mod that allows you to use the workshop in enslaved settlements. Have your cake and eat it. The cake is not a lie.

Which can be easily achieved by evacuating your intended raider settlements before taking them over. He's still butthurt though. Moraelin
Well, sure, but where's the fun in that?
cossayos
Actually, yeah, there are mods and other ways. 1. Grab this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18121/? Be advised though - that at least in my case - this mod in it's current from messed up my raider menu in the workshop if you still decide on raiding settlements. I know for sure it was this mod. I was no longer able to buid a nuka world beacon and all the other stuff under the same category. Disabling this brought the menu back.
Moraelin
Hmm, weird, I had no such problem with it. I guess it must be some kind of conflict with another mod.
