I don't recall predicting an Indian uprising

It doesn't reflect very well on you when you forget your own doomsday claims.

Problem becomes here, if [Karelia] IS returned, it sets a rather interesting precedent. Especially here in the states, as the Indian nations would IMMEDIATELY be pressing their claims to have their land returned to them.

Do you really believe that there are legions of angry natives waiting patiently for a land dispute in the armpit of Russia?

Yes

To be fair there are natives right now disputing land ownership, right the way from Chile to Canada.

They don't need any more excuses to be pissed off.

in all reality, they have legitimate gripes. Trouble is, conquest thru war has generally been an accepted way of expanding a nations borders since time immemorial. :D If there is ever a legal precedent set, that overthrows that particular little idiom, lawyer jobs are going to be in high demand. :D

It's not even like the US gov stopped out right breaking treaties with them in the 70s and 80s. It still happens to this day when the need to mine for uranium or something on their land. The gov just sends them a piece of paper voiding previous agreements. Problem?

I can recommend some books on the subject. They will make you very angry though.

No treaty the US government has signed has ever been worth the paper is was printed on. Might just as well stack it with the old magazines in the outhouse.

fixed
