blattgeist
I'm glad I have steam on offline mode since patch 1.2 screwed up everything. Playing it on 1.1 now, much better and more compatible with all the fine mods here on nexus.
Valamyr
So far, 1.3 seems like a fair step up from 1.1 for me (skipped 1.2) OK it crashed a lot at first... then I remembered I had forgotten to re-apply the 4GB patch lol SInce I did that, 1.3 has been a charm. Then again, my PC is OP and I wouldnt have noticed a 10 fps drop ....
stars2heaven
I took a look at some of the files that were changed. This is the first time both the .BSA was changed along with the .exe. I think the ini may have been altered as well since my last modified date shows the day of patch. So I bet money that these changes are playing havoc with peoples ini settings and other things. I'd suggest trying a new character without any mods activated and see what kind of problems show up.
buzzbomb
I decided to bite the bullet and download the 1.3. I've been playing on a reloaded 1.1, but the supposed Core2 optimization intrigued me. My game now looks and runs great. I actually gained about 10fps in the outdoors and more indoors. That's while running ambient occlusion and everything maxed, with Ugrids on 9. For the first time since I installed this game, my mouse is working correctly! That alone is totally boss. At first, I had to reset the tweaking I'd done to my video driver, to get past the loading screen, but that was accomplished with minimal bloodshed. I just reset to preset and added the good stuff, one setting at a time. I'm running a Core2 Quad at 2.3ghz.6gb of system ram. (Using the 4gb enabler found at http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013)EVGA Superclocked Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 with 2gb of VRAM. (Latest beta driver).Windows Vista Home Premium. Notably, I am not running any crafting mods. I made my ini files NOT read only for the update and did a total backup of the entire contents of the Steam-Skyrim folder and Mygames-Skyrim beforehand, just in case. It's running so smoothly, that even though I've got Steam back in offline mode, I made another total backup of all the game files, just in case there's another unwanted update that totally screws what I've got. I say, back it up and give it a shot.
capngagi
I played for a few hours last night with no issues, but I hasten to add that I didn't run into the backwards-flying dragons until two days after 1.2 was released. So far, so good, though.Try getting rid of Val's crafting mod.
ShadowscaleB1980
only recently been having CTD issues, it's damn annoying if you ask me*. But it could certainly be worse I played one particular game that unless I didn't kill the bloated process in task manager it would continue to eat up memory and CPU cycles. *and i'm running Vanilla Skyrim with all the current patches and no mods. elleonblanco
After waiting a couple of days I just installed 1.3. After running an entire dungeon everything seems to be working smoothly. IMHO if you haven-t installed this patch yet go ahead as I have found no issues with it.
NHWynter
I think it's funny how many people won't patch because 1% or less people have some problems (almost certainly something on their end). People with no problems aren't posting so it looks like a lot of people are having issues. Just like it looks like most people disliked Skyrim until someone puts up a poll and over 90% love it. It helps to look on the Bethesda site and not just this one. There were, literally, hundreds upon hundreds of people who had issues with the 1.3 patch. And I'm not talking about the game not starting because of the Val's mod. I'm talking about the SOSDD stuff that Bethesda hasn't fixed in Skyrim. NHWynter
the point of this thread was to find out if people were having issues before some of us patched. at least for me anyway and I will still wait to hear more info on it.Your completely correct in saying people enjoying the game aren't complaining , that was me until i downloaded the 1.3 , Now i am complaining cause I can't even play with out crashing every 5 to 10 minutes , all i did was go to steam page and they began automatically downloading it , and so i trusted they new what they were doing , well ever since then my game got worse , and as i said in another post i can't even play anymore . I have no idea how to fix this ! First, change Steam so it does not auto-update. Second, go to the Properties of TESV,exe, Skyrim-Interface.bsa and restore them to a previous version. ShadowscaleB1980
CTD's are occurring with greater frequency now, I can now only play the game for a few minutes 3mins being the average for the past few days. Edited December 11, 2011 by shadow_scale9180
