magmameister
Okay, so I found a tutorial that lets me create NPC companions and my first attempt actually went rather well. But now I want to make a companion that's able to repair your gear but I haven't really been able to find anything good for that and I'm still relatively new to tinkering in the GECK. I also want to give the NPC a backstory that they'll only reveal on a successful (but rather difficult) speech check but with me being very new to scripting, I'm still learning the ins and outs. Also creating facial features in the GECK doesn't link up to the displayed face in-game too. I.E. I create my companion's face in the GECK and it looks good there, then when I test the mod in-game it looks weird. Any and all help would be much appreciated! :D Edit to add: The NPC companion will also be using a custom hairstyle and eye colour but I'd also want to create a vanilla-only version if I do end up uploading it to Nexus just so it's there XD Edited October 5, 2016 by magmameister
2much4l1
I would suggest reverse engineering some of the great companion mods like "Brisa" http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/14448/? And others that already have the features you want. Good luck with the scripting!
magmameister
Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a look and see if I can get to grips with the scripting :D
magmameister
I have noticed one issue with my NPC companion. In the GECK he's listed as Asian and when I've adjusted skin tone within the GECK he does have the right skin tone. But when I test the mod in game he's a very blatant shade of milk bottle and doesn't have an Asian skin tone at all. Any way to fix that? Also, is there a way I can set up a dialogue option that picks one response from a list at random or not?
