NCR WW2 Pacific USMC uniforms

Basically I think it would be a cool idea if someone re-made the current NCR uniforms to resemble the uniform used by the USMC in the Pacific during WW2. Due to personal taste this may or may not extend into the rangers (although I personally would leave 'em be, as I like their iconic uniforms)

Pictures for inspiration:-

Anyway, hopefully someone is interested enough to give it a go!

Thanks.

i would be cool to idk about them having no armor but maybe a ww2 marine uniform with a 50's style flack jacket thrown on?

Well I have just done a quick mock-up using CNTs excellent NCR uniform replacers (seen here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41705) Basically I just replaced the vast majority of NCR armours with either the scout chest-rig BDU, or a straight up BDU - luckily CNT did options for the normal BDUs with sleeves rolled either up or down, so there is a bit of variety - and helmets distinguish MPs I believe :)

That's as close as I can get really, they still look fairly modern, but I don't have any ideas how to make meshes or textures, nor the time either (Uni work and so on), and without CNTs permission I doubt I can release it - even then, I don't think there'd be much interest

Really doesnt make sense that they dont have bullet proof vests and jackets as they existed in the 1920s.

Take a quick look on Google images for American soldiers in ww2, the vast majority of images you see looks like they're not wearing any kind of bullet-proof vest in the modern sense anyway, same goes for things like The Pacific and Band of Brothers (granted they're not the best sources for historical accuracy, but just to give a basic idea).

Honestly I don't know if they did wear them, but in every single source I can find, image wise, I don't see bullet-proof vests, maybe if the technology was expensive or new, it just wasn't feasible to equip millions of American troops with Bullet-proof vests?

EDIT: Again, not best source, but here...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballistic_vest#World_War_II They were under development in ww2, mostly found to be too heavy and so not worth it in combat, flak jackets for airmen were instead developed, first proper bullet proof vests used by the US military used in Okinawa in '45, last year of the war obviously.
