IsharaMeradin
According to Can You Run It, my graphics card does not meet the specs. But it does meet or exceed all the sub-specs (i.e. pixel shader version, vertex shader version and dedicated VRAM). My question, to put it bluntly, is will my card actually work to some degree? Skyrim SE minimum: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 1GB /AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GBMy card: AMD RADEON R7 250 2GB GDDR3 PCI-E 3.0 I would most likely keep playing the original as I can handle a decent amount of mods. But I would like to check out SE if at all possible. I'm not looking to buy a new card. Just curious if it would be usable enough for purposes of testing any of my mods that could be updated to SE version.
sa547
I've run the game at hardware specs less than CYRI expects it, but Skyrim works on my low-spec PC, so sometimes CYRI can be pretty inaccurate. Besides, SSE will be installed separately just like FO3 GOTY Edition.
saurusmaximus
Worst case you will have to set everything to "low" and the game will stutter. But being that you have 2GB of vram I suspect you'll be ok.
saurusmaximus
Just out of curiosity, how does it run for you?
IsharaMeradin
The game picked medium settings and it runs very well. Not sure why they call it minimum specifications if it isn't the lowest set of specs that will run the game. Gives me hope that I could run the 2015 Tomb Raider as it was the same scenario with its minimum specs.
twiztedmongoloid
im surprised someone knowledgeable as you is even asking this question and that also your hardware is so weak. I dont mean this as being mean or hateful its just that usually people like you are enthusiasts and have pretty capable PC's. I think they list minimum specs higher than what they actually are just to error on the side of caution. These are the minimum we recommend to comfortably play the game but that doesn't mean it cant be played on less. Since the games free for most of us im not sure why this is even a question. Download it and test it.
Sekai9999
I have the same card but it's onboard, and Skyrim SE won't recognize it at all. I've read people having similar problems with onboard GPUs, but I've tried the only solutions I've read so far (Make sure the game is set to use the GPU in Nvidia/AMD control panel, and change the default graphics option in the bios) to no effect. Download it and test it. I did download and test it. See my reply right above your post. And as far as having a capable PC, I do have to stick within a budget. I had managed to get a better computer (the current one whose specs are in my profile) when the laptop I was using gave out. I got the best within my means, sorry if that isn't good enough. But there it is. I have the same card but it's onboard, and Skyrim SE won't recognize it at all. I gather that it is why it was recognized. Don't know how to help you in your situation.
