hopventure
Found this thread after browsing through all the different camera mods Nexus currently has looking for precisely this feature. Someone please figure it out. It's hard to test out clipping issues with custom armor sets if can only see half the character while moving. Dranorak
Okay, I've decided to make a guide on a combination of console commands that enable you to play around with your camera and controls binding. This allows you to separate your camera perspective from your controls over two characters which enables you to film from any perspective whilst moving your character around (in front of the camera). There's both a comprehensive and a brief guide that'll show you how to do what's shown in the video I posted in this topic earlier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA-EEjQCT8w&hd=1I hope you'll find it useful. If so please leave me a comment/like and favorite and subscribe. It helps me :) Questions/requests can be posted in the comments of the comprehensive guide. I'll be around to answer them. The brief guide can be found here: Also check out this topic: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/530917-holding-f-camera-rotation/
nutstes
*bump* oh yes, i am missing that feature too. just searched through all the mods on nexus, seems there is still nothing out there :( i hope this is even doable and not too deeply hardcoded! a second approach for the horse could be to let it follow a path and not control it until disabling autopilot... another idea i'd like to see: hopping onto a carriage and being transported and not teleported to the destination in real time - just like in GTA4. OHMY i would love this! ...and then defending the carriage together with other passengers while the driver shouts at the horse to go faster. ah well *g* o/nuts Edited February 17, 2012 by nutstes
SallalePop
I've been looking for a way to do this for ages.
luvboox
I too have been looking for this- panning camera around character while moving/fighting. The way it was done in Oblivion was perfect.
worldofscotty
It's easy to pan while standing still cause you don't need the right analogue for anything else. when moving we need it to rotate our body. I think it would be hard or impossible to play like this. That said you can just type 'animcam' into the console
Mbednar
I'm so surprised that I haven't noticed this until today. I mean it was in Morrowind and Oblivion. Seems like a strange thing to keep out. I always loved panning around my character when he was walking/running through the wilderness. Just made it look cooler, and a stupid way to kill time :P. Hope someone comes up with something more convenient than animcam. Like just holding in the POV binding and dragging the mouse (like in the old days XD)
ElricOfGrans
This was actually one of the first things I noticed that was different in Skyrim. I was so used to using this all the time that I have found its absence distracting.
CausticRKS
What's worse about character viewing in skyrim is that once you rotate the camera, the character snaps them to face in that direction. It looks AWFUL, because there's no transition animation for the character to turn in another direction. I consider Skyrim's current vanity camera "bugged" because of how huge the flaws are compared to the older TES games and fallout. It simply doesn't work correctly, and can be frustrating. It is the first thing I noticed an hour into playing the game. I really hope someone saves us soon. :wallbash:
shuriken88
What's worse about character viewing in skyrim is that once you rotate the camera, the character snaps them to face in that direction. It looks AWFUL Do you mean when your standing still, then say, rotate the camera 180*, then move forward, your suddenly facing the other direction without any "spin" or turn? If so, then I'm SURE the 3 most recent TES games, and FO games do that too. Its sh*t, I know, but atleast its only a minor bug. I've come to live with it.
