SirSquidlyEsquire
Hello, nexusmods forum community! I've recently gotten back into Skyrim and thus modding after learning about how SKSE would take a long time to get updated for the special edition. I'm semi-savvy with mods (Compatibility patches, SKSE memory, ENBoost, etc.), but am by no means an expert. Far from it. I recently decided to really try and learn the ins and outs of properly modding my Skyrim, and came across the issue of Script Overload and Script Spamming. I was hoping you fine people here could give me some advice on if my load order is too bloated with script-heavy mods. Load Order: Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmDawnguard.esmHearthFires.esmDragonborn.esmUnofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.espClimatesOfTamriel.esmSkyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esmCampfire.esmLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esmHighResTexturePack01.espHighResTexturePack02.espHighResTexturePack03.espSkyUI.espiHUD.espAHZmoreHUD.espAMatterOfTime.espRaceMenu.espRaceMenuPlugin.espClimatesOfTamriel-Nights-Level-3.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dawnguard-Patch.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dragonborn-Patch.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dungeons-Hardcore.espdD - Enhanced Blood Main.espdD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.espSMIM-Merged-All.espAMB Glass Variants Lore.espaMidianBorn_ContentAddon.espaMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.espDifferently Ebony.espSkyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.espPurewaters.espFurther Dark Dungeons for ENB.espAOS.espAOS2_CoT3_1_patch.espAOS2_EBT Patch.espImmersive Sounds - Compendium.espBrows.espBeards.espPresets 2-3.espRUSTIC SOULGEMS - Unsorted.espISC CCF Patch.espISC WAFR Patch.espISCompendium AOS Patch.espISCompendium Enhanced Blood Patch.espWetandCold.espWetandCold - Ashes.espCloaks.esp1nivWICCloaks.esp1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch.espCutting Room Floor.espClothing & Clutter Fixes.espComplete Crafting Overhaul_Remade.espWeapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.espWeapons & Armor_TrueWeaponsLvlLists.espFrostfall.espBlack Mage Armor.espHothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.espHothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.espCollegeOfWinterholdImmersive.espInconsequential NPCs.espInconsequential NPCs - CRF Compatibility Patch.espInigo.espAlternate Start - Live Another Life.espUnique Uniques.espRealisticNeedsandDiseases.espRND_Dawnguard-Patch.espRND_Dragonborn-Patch.espRND_HearthFires-Patch.espRND_PureWaters-Patch.espGuard Dialogue Overhaul.espAnimations.espApocalypse - The Spell Package.espbetter_torches_brighter_torchlight.espvAutosaveManager.espUndeath.espDwemertech - Magic of the Dwarves.espMorskom.espMorskomPatchCOT.espVioLens.espTimingIsEverything.esp3DNPC.espWarburg's 3D Paper World Map - Texture 1.espwarburg's 3d paper world map - dawnguard.espWarburg's 3D Paper World Map - Dragonborn.espHeight Adjusted Races with True Giants.espRequiem.espRequiem - Legendary Bugsmasher Edition.espRequiem - Hearthfire.espKFR-Kryptopyr'sFixesReqtified.espCOR-CraftingOverhaulReqtified.espRequiem - Audio Overhaul for Skyrim.espRequiem - Height Adjusted Races with True Giants.espISC Requiem Patch.espRequiem - Black Mage Armor.espRequiem - Campfire.espRequiem - Cutting Room Floor.espRequiem - Frostfall.espRequiem - Immersive Armors.espRequiem - Immersive College of Winterhold.espRequiem - Immersive Sounds Compendium.espRequiem - Inconsequential NPCs.espRequiem - Inigo.espRequiem - Live Another Life.espRequiem - Unique Uniques - AOS.espRND_Requiem-Patch.espCFR-CloaksForRequiem.espCFR-Campfire.espApocalypse - Requiem Compatibility Patch.espRequiem - Inconsequential NPCs - Enhancement.espRequiem - VioLens.espRequiem - Rustic Soulgems - ISC.espRequiem - Timing is Everything.espNRM Undeath - Requiem Patch.espDwemertech - Requiem Compatibility Patch.espNRM 3DNPC - Requiem Patch.espRequiem for the Indifferent.esp I believe that the only very script-heavy mod I have is Requiem. Relevant PC Specs: CPU: Intel i5 4670KGPU: Nvidia GTX 970 4GB VRAM12GB RAM So, is my Skyrim doomed to eventually sputter out and die with constant CTDs due to script load the longer I play? If so, is there a way to periodically clean any repeating scripts or prevent this from happening entirely? Thanks in advance!

ymf331
the main thing you have to worry about are scripts that affect npcs on a regular basis combined with added npcs. you shouldn't have a problem, but a good way to check is to find something that you activate, like a plant you can harvest. if it takes a while to get added to your inventory then you have script lag. also the mod convenient horses comes with a script latency test, but i wouldn't really bother with that unless you were going to use it anyway. wet and cold, frostfall, dual sheath redux, enhanced blood, dynamic vampire appearance... stuff like those that affects npcs and dynamically checks on a timer will make a lot of scripts run simultaneously.
