Script Overload/Spamming Risk?

Hello, nexusmods forum community! I've recently gotten back into Skyrim and thus modding after learning about how SKSE would take a long time to get updated for the special edition.

I'm semi-savvy with mods (Compatibility patches, SKSE memory, ENBoost, etc.), but am by no means an expert. Far from it. I recently decided to really try and learn the ins and outs of properly modding my Skyrim, and came across the issue of Script Overload and Script Spamming. I was hoping you fine people here could give me some advice on if my load order is too bloated with script-heavy mods.

I believe that the only very script-heavy mod I have is Requiem. Some of the others I know use a decent amount of scripts are Frostfall, RnD, Wet and Cold, CoF, Timing is Everything, Morskom, and Enhanced Blood Textures.

Relevant PC Specs:

CPU: Intel i5 4670K
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 4GB VRAM
12GB RAM

So, is my Skyrim doomed to eventually sputter out and die with constant CTDs due to script load the longer I play? If so, is there a way to periodically clean any repeating scripts or prevent this from happening entirely?

Thanks in advance!

Safely Load is old twice over it was replaced by Sheson Patch which was replaced by Crash Fixes.

But it doesn't hurt to keep it. Thing have changed while you been away. Use Google to get up to speed.

  • SKSE.ini & Sheson Patch
  • everything by Meh123 specially Crash Fixes using SKSE_Preloader & ENBoost.

Get all that under your belt before you worry about script bloating, don't place cart be horse. Cheers dude.

the main thing you have to worry about are scripts that affect npcs on a regular basis combined with added npcs. you shouldn't have a problem, but a good way to check is to find something that you activate, like a plant you can harvest. if it takes a while to get added to your inventory then you have script lag. also the mod convenient horses comes with a script latency test, but i wouldn't really bother with that unless you were going to use it anyway. wet and cold, frostfall, dual sheath redux, enhanced blood, dynamic vampire appearance... stuff like those that affects npcs and dynamically checks on a timer will make a lot of scripts run simultaneously.
