templeofninpo
Is there reason, beyond graphical, ugridstoload shouldn't be set to 3?
TheMastersSon
Not sure I understand your question. The default for ugridstoload is 5 and I've never run into anyone who ran with lower numbers, only higher. :)
Striker879
According to Koroush Ghazi in his tweak guide for Oblivion the game will automatically revert the uGridstoload number to the closest odd number if you try to set an even number (i.e 4 or 6). As the game would no longer be able to display non-LOD stuff in all grids surrounding the player (which 5 is able to do) I'm guessing it will automatically use 5 if you try to set 3. Have you tried it? - Edit - I think it was Alenet who posted a very good and thorough description of how the grid system works ... possibly way back in the Oblivion Reloaded mod comments. templeofninpo
I found this- http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1274926-ugridstoload-skyrimini-comparisons-and-explanation-default-57911/ Explains uGrids setup pretty well (for skyrim) but nothing about a setting of 3. Tried 3 with my oblivion install but didn't notice a change. I am running 640x480 with view distance all the way up with tree fade to 0, and fps averages to 17ish for both 3 and 5. So maybe a setting of three just reverts to 5. This fellow claims 3 is functional for skyrim- .
