PeterMartyr
It was Gift, you don't complain about a Gift, that say more about you, than anything else. Yes there are things I don't like, but that doesn't change how grateful I am, nor will bag something that was free. Thank you Bethesda for this 64Bit Foundation that you have given me. Balx2
Some people seem to have forgotten articles written by various websites and the following quote, "Hines reminded us that the development team had already ported Skyrim to the Xbox One as a technical exercise, so some of the work had already been done."I honestly just look at it as they wanted to try out a new engine in house, liked it and went forward with it. We got lucky and got a remastered Skyrim out of it.Only thing I am curious about now is how much work was put into the remaster after Fallout 4 was finished because it seems like the backend was polished a little. The game is pretty darn stable and the smooth transitions between areas is so nice. I no longer go get a cup of coffee every loading screen.
phantompally76
OP, get off your soapbox, and consider that the SE is NOT offering an increase in stability and performance for a lot of Skyrim players. I am one of them. While you're sick of people bashing the Bethesda cash grab of porting unoptimized textures and overcompressed audio, I am equally sick of fanbois treating the SE like the second coming of Christ. I prefer the original game in every conceivable manner, because it 1). is more stable on my system, 2). offers better performance on my system, 3). hasn't let me down in over 2000 hours of play. The SE let me down on the main loading screen, and continued to let me down for the next 3 and a half hours. So if playing a game through the eyes of a person with glaucoma is your bag, then knock yourself out. As stated many times before in the past 2 days, increased stability means absolutely nothing when coupled with decreased performance, and this community isn't going to run out and buy a new rig in order to play a game they've been running just fine for 5 years. Boombro
Except OG skyrim was not not stable and was even broken.
SMB92
I would remind him DX11 is capable of more rendering, i.e in OG Skyrim I can get 6000 draw calls before tanking, fallout 4 18,000. This is huge. But I won't be deleting my Oldrim any time soon, this much I can tell you.
dhflow
Don't know if this has been posted nor how many of you have seen this, but in this video, at 9m52, he shouts at over a 2000 items on the ground, it looks damn impressive to me. jones177
It is a better place to start. I know that one day this game will look beyond belief good on my computer. Later
davidwalshireland
Good OPThe complainers dont understand what SSE isAnd there are also a whole bunch who love to hate things like Skyrim and leave troll comments on fan forums just to vent and tauntBut we have to expect thatI remember when the game first came out the Bethesda forums were infested with trolls hating on itas the worse game ever madeThread after thread devolved into flame wars and so onIt was grim
BlackRelic27
Personally, I thought it looked pretty damn good out of the box, consideirng the age of the source materials. Only exclusion being the vanilla character models but those were always ugly. I've already gotten rid of original Skyrim. The only thing that I'm going to really miss that's going to take a while to get back is SKSE. But most other of my essential mods are showing up post-haste, the modders are really doing an awesome job.
