BallsOFyre
I like the game a great deal, but it does very much lack much in the way of dialogue "choices" in a great many instances....this leaves you "moving forward" in dialogues, rather than roleplaying a lot of the time. The second worst issue is the lack of knowing how you are doing, morally, in the eyes of other people. The only way you know people hate you is when they are trying to kill you. I miss the more subtle shades of grey when you do some little good or bad thing, and can check and see where you stand in the general world of things. I think this hurts the game sense of interactivity within the world. It's a letdown from FO3 and Oblivion, in my opinion.

Also the range of skills has lessened from Oblivion and the speech skill is "invisible', making dialog even more bland. The mini game for speech was fun and I feel that was a good way to make and break friendships in-game. Seeing where you stand with any NPC was a huge immersion thing for me too. squibjb66"Make your own luck."
BallsOFyre
There are aspects of the general streamlining of Skyrim that I do enjoy....it's simpler and more immersive overall than the past games....but I do hate the lazy conversation constructions greatly. The way skills are handled, I think, is pretty cool. And the health bars popping up just in combat is an excellent addition.

Seeing where you stand with any NPC was a huge immersion thing for me too. You actually LIKED that wheel? To each their own i guess... i just resorted to bribes all the time... I do agree that the conversational system is lackluster. As much as conversation is just a way to get information across, they seem to have taken an overly utilitarian approach with it... dark47
The biggest beef I've got with the game seems to be the duel-wielding thing. I like to duel-wield, but hot-keying my 2 favorite swords never works. One of them always seems to be something other than what I prefer. There doesn't seem to be a way to hotkey them both and make it stick. Edited December 18, 2011 by dark47
luxwing0go
1. The damn menus. NO, I DIDN'T CLICK ON THAT SO STOP TELLING ME YOU SELL JUNK! *pant-pant* Currently considering buying an xbox controller because of it. Grrrr. 2. People don't know when to shut up. Seriously. This chick wouldn't stop telling me how not afraid of me she was so I set her on fire. Sheesh. 3. Steam. Man oh man, was that a bad idea. Is it really so difficult to let everyone have a choice of either Steam or DVD? They say it's supposed to prevent pirating, but the game and all its patches are available on torrents all the same apparently. Purpose failed - respawn in 30 sec. But, honestly, the game still has fewer glitches and runs better than Oblivion for me. Also, while the dialogue is kinda stale, it still have better atmosphere and a more realistic feel than Oblivion did. Meh, I still love it. Besides, most of the glitches people talk about will either be fixed by Bethesda or everyone else when the kit comes out...whenever it comes out...Grrr... 4. No Creative Kit?! Deleted1123719User
Can't decide on one, general annoyances: The interface. Simply awful. Still waiting for those proper interface mods. Worst offenders are the world map and the inventory. The perk tree is also horrible but you don't need to access that as often. Followers. Game would be better without them altogether. Slow quest NPCs that you have to wait for / follow. I'm on a schedule. Crappy textures, but this can be fixed with mods. Bad dialogue, unemotive characters, shitty one-liners, unchanging world. Look no further than Mass Effect (and other bioware stuff) to see how it's done right.Totally agree. Dragon Age Origins had so many options when talking to NPCs - I want to be able to sassy dammit! Shitty game engine and patches (each patch brings in more bugs than it fixes) Steam I could go on.

BWAAAAAAA-I play with an xbox controler on my laptop and hook my laptop up to a television for a larger screen, Its worked really well for me although I did have to buy the charger pack too as normal batteries only last about 20hours. I like to play lazy, so I can recline while I play rather than sit at a desk on PC, this used to give me backache.
Palanai
I think very generally speaking, skyrim's biggest problem is how small a leap it is from oblivion. It refines everything that made that game great, of course and adds some new elements too but overall, oblivion was a bigger step forward from morrowind. I dont know, maybe they thought it's best to play it safe, maybe they're holding out on the big things for DLC.
