Manually installing mods

Alright, so I am currently unable to download mods using the NMM. I understand and do appreciate the hard work to get it back up..... My question is: If I download the mods manually do I place them directly in the SKSE folder or in the NMM SKSE folder? I havent modded or played skyrim for a few years, so the memory eludes me!

âThank you kindly!

You install them in your Skyrim/Data folder. But why would you want to when there are good mod managers out there (NMM and MO)? Even if you have to d/l manually, you can still use those to do the install, which I highly recommend you do. Also, are we talking about original Skyrim, or Skyrim SE?

This is correct, I figured out how to use the NMM offline. Yeah, just a brain fart, it's been 3+ years lol

Anyways for those wondering I'm going to make another post for those unable to log into NMM to help.

  • 1 year later...

Im playing both Old and New skyrim and MO is doing 32 bit skyrim duty and was hoping NMM would handle Skyrim SE they can't seem to work together kinda like the community as a whole it would seem. How do I get NMM to work when Mod organizer Won't let NMM near the green buttons of the nexus page.

First of all, congratulations on digging up an old thread :D

Secondly, I haven't got a clue what you're talking about. I've been using NMM since Fallout 4 was released and am meanwhile merrilly using NMM for FO:NV, FO4, Skyrim and hey, Skyrim SE. A game working on a 32-bits or 64-bits engine hasn't got anything to do with how a mod manager handles the mods (at least, as far as NMM goes; I've never used Mod Organizer) because that mod manager doesn't care how many bits are involved...
