Yes, that could do it theoretically. Link a workbench to another container. Isn't that essentially what supply lines do?

logically speaking for 2 workbenches to be linked i think the container would be the mutual link...

Having thought about it, pretty sure you link new workbench to old workbench with workshoplinkcontainer.

Yep, I have experimented with adding Sanctuary Hills "Root Cellar" to the settlement. It worked partly, you could craft, Scrap but I never figured out how to get settlers to use it so I gave up.

wb outside + container, wb inside link to wb outside as container, or the otherway around

 

my gorskie have wb+container outside and 1 wb+ container inside(cave) the 1 inside is linked to the outside(as container) works like a charm(can use both for building and they share the same resource)

 

just to clear things the inside container is set up as recource container it contains food/water just single link it to your wb inside, and link the wb inside as single to the outside wb as container, the outside wb+container can be setup like always
