  1. 1. Female armors are denigrating.

    • Yes they are offensive. (Male perspective)
    • No they are just a style choice.(Male perspective)
    • It's just another immersion choice. (Male perspective)

Not degrading. Armor worn is always choice. If even in the real world women wore something that may seem degrading, versus a male opponent she would probably have an advantage, we all know why. If anyone has a problem with it, they shouldn't wear it, play the game, or if it were real world, they should stay out of the fight.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, there is the opinion and then there is just being realistic and real with yourself. However in a real world, in a real battle situation, yes it leaves many points of attack. Yet, would anyone really be ignorant enough to fight in something as such. Here in the virtual world we use our anatomically correct mods for self pleasure and/or an immersion into our virtual world. A world where the majority, or those "real" enough to admit, would just like to have limitless possibilities to our little fantasy land.

There's always a choice. Since were talking about a video game, I think if someone finds it offensive they should either not play, or develop a mod to increase coverage if vanilla isn't enough for them. ^^

at least they put woman in the game. if they really wanted to objectify them, they wouldnt have put them in at all, considering woman warriors were unheard of in medieval times. :P

Ever hear of Joan d'Arc (Joan of Arc to the English)? At the age of seventeen (yes 17) she commanded the French Army (murdered 30 May 1431), and in a few months broke the back of 100 years of English occupation. She broke the five month long siege of Orleans on nine days. Alexander the Great was in his twenties when he took over from his father.

What about the amazons of Greek mythology? They were based on tribes that came from the steppe north of the Black Sea. They found a tomb of a warrior, bedecked in an incredible array of gold objects and weapons. That warrior was a woman. How about Boudica?

If they didn't put them in, it would be ignoring them, not objectifying them. Objectifying would be like limiting them to housewife, merchant, dancer, singer. There doesn't appear to be much restriction to females' roles in Skyrim. Female Jarls, female blacksmiths, female warriors and assassins.

I just wish the vanilla armours in Skyrim were researched better. Not enough covering for a cold weather province. The people would freeze to death in a day.

I don't exactly find them offensive, but I do think they can be very ridiculous at times. Bikini chainmail? To each their own, but IMO I find armors like this just moronic.

In real life, armor was pretty basic. It was designed to be metal on the body.

That in mind, yes, they are rather ridiculous. Sometimes, the armors posted make anime-style look modest. If it's actually a good looking, logical, interesting armor, then I will applaud the maker if it shows even some skin. SOME. But if MOST of the armor is aimed at trying to capitalize on showing far too much, I can't say I'm all for it. That doesn't mean the authors suck, it just means it's not my cup of tea.

I'm no stranger to posting pics where skin is showing. Heck, I've even put up stuff that had to be marked "Adult" or even placed in the supporters section. For me, when I gear up a female character there is a simple question: Is she going out to fight, or is she going out to... well.. you know. The problem for me is when trying to find stuff for fighitng (particularly armor), too much of it looks like it's for that other word that starts with an 'f'! Edited by juderodney

Like... one-month old threads? http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/whistling.gif (stares at the gap between TolarisOmega's post and Gaius_Ignatius' post).

OP request..kindly close this thread before someone gets in trouble for thread necromancy. I thank all of those posters who took the time to comment, I think we have reached full circle with this one.
