Please stop randomly disabling notifications

Pulling the plug on your notification server at random times really is a PITA when you do not tell us you are doing it. Find some other way to conserve bandwidth that sucks less.

Nothing about conserving bandwidth, it's about keeping up the sites, full-stop. You can either have disabled notifications, or you can have no site at all. Which would you rather have?

I was not aware that the notifications had such a effect on the site. Would it be possible to add a way to make us aware the notifications are not enabled so we know to go looking for possible updates or posts by authors we are following?

 

Perhaps have the notification envelope icon change color when its not being updated?
