TechNina
I played this game when it first came out and loved it, but I never played it with any mods. Are there any must have mods for Oblivion?
Surilindur
The unofficial patches would probably be handy, at least. The Oblivion and Shivering Isles ones are a must, If you have any of the small DLC, then you could also consider the small DLC patches: Unofficial Oblivion PatchUnofficial Shivering Isles PatchUnofficial Oblivion DLC Patches Other than that, I think I will not recommend anything to anyone for the foreseeable future. It does not feel right to do it, considering the nature of modding. Also, are you planning on modding all four games at once (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3)? That sounds like quite the undertaking. You are not a new member here, though, so it could be that you already know a lot, and have no issues installing mods. It is just that the differences between Oblivion and Skyrim are already quite noticeable, not to mention Oblivion and Morrowind. Referring to the other threads you made: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5033475-user-friendly-mods-for-morrowind/https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5033455-must-have-mods-for-fallout-3/https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5033465-mod-recommendations-for-skyrim/ Good luck with your modding endeavour, though! The only way to get something done is to try to get it done. Thumbs up!

Thumbs up! I've done modding years ago, including the ones from back in the days of manually installing and splicing together every file, but I've only done total conversions or minor utility clients that did one thing at a time like modify map overlays or collect data. I've never installed multiple mods that change multiple things at the same time before. I'm considering modding all of those games because they all have different things I liked about them. Striker879
If I can throw in my usual two cents, it's install mods one at a time and test thoroughly in between adding mods. When you run into the inevitable snafu, that makes troubleshooting a rather simple affair. If you add a whole bunch of mods at once you will join the long list of people posting on here with another of the many "I added a bunch of mods and now my game won't start" type posts. If you have prior experience playing Oblivion think back to the type of things that bother you the most about the vanilla game. Then look through the Top Lists for mods that address those issues. What I think needs improving in the game may not even create a blip on your radar.
zazz825
The unofficial patches are a must. They fix a lot of bugs... These are some of my favourites, though. I don't even play Oblivion without them now. Next, Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, Martigen's Monster Mod. They make the game harder, more diverse, more quests, just better. For the world itself, Better Cities and the Unique Landscapes Mods. These are a must. UL makes the world really pretty, lots of beautiful work done there. For combat, Deadly Reflex. I use DR 5, but I've heard good things about 6 as well. Lots of bugs, but worth it. For magic, Supreme Magicka. Adds a lot of awesome spells, teleportation, poison, rapidfire, absorb damage... the list goes on. Midas Magic also adds a ton of unique spells and is really worth using. For quests, Kragenirs Death Quest, and Dungeons of Ivellon. Kragenirs adds so many quests that you could never find or complete all of them, and Ivellon is probably the best dungeon quest mod out there. Also, Tears of the Fiend, Ruined-Tail's Tale, and anything by Simyaz is worth playing. For fun, Blackpowder Bombs. Just adds bombs, and its awesome. Also, Hilarity, adds a ton of new spells that are a lot of fun to use in the Market District Hope that helps.
Oblivionaddicted
For new worldspaces Dibella's watch, Silgrad tower, Windfall and to a lesser extent Loren and Nascosto isles are very good.
