huntsman2310
Getting ahead of myself here, but I think I could use the Mammoth's movement animations for the Wyvern or Draak.....you know what let's just call it a Drake. I don't know if I should because I might lose the unique movement of a Dragon, and I definitely don't want to screw things up by animating it myself. Ghogiel
I have my doubts that the mammoth frame would be similar enough to get a good result. I have to mention the dragon has a enormous neck and long ass tail... Which couldn't be rigged to any of the mammoth skeleton really
Omnimmotus
and sorry about that man I must have just skimmed past that :wallbash:Eh, no worries. :) It just seemed ironic. Is the mammoth skeleton really anywhere near similar enough to the skeleton you will be making for animations to carry over? With a different limb structure, weight distribution and shape, I think you're pretty much stuck making something new. Now that I think about it, you might consider making it move like a giant lizard. :3 Edited December 22, 2011 by Omnimmotus
ALittleBird
Can't you use the normal Dragon's land-movement animations? I know it's not all perfect but I don't think a Mammoth will work.
VampireKnight16
It looks great man, To be honest. i couldent care less about the knee's being backwards, why not make it like the Saber tooth cat, or wolve's skelewaggle system'ness its going to be running at you the Dragon and mamoth kinda just stroll . Should size it down, *Not like a hatchling,But was a good idea* and make it just smaller. and easyer to adjust to the frame's and what not. but Wooo! keep at it! And to the guy that asked, Thats were the wings were ^^ Cheers VampireKnight
huntsman2310
I think I will just stick with using the Dragons land movement anims (and those bastards are actually fairly fast on the ground if they stay long enough.) , it makes it simple and easier. As for those Velociraptors all I would need to do is get the Blood Dragon mesh (has the right head shape), remove the wings, give it some Velociraptor arms and the AI package from the Ice Wolves. But first things first, the Drake.
huntsman2310
So I've run into my first spot of strife. The problem is that since I copy and pasted the back legs, they still have the knees pointing forwards. I'm going to try and use an armature to change the shape of the leg so it becomes more closer to an actual foreleg. I might start on the Velociraptor soon. I'll post a pic once I've done its forearms. Edited December 23, 2011 by huntsman2310
huntsman2310
Alright, I've decided I'm not going to bother with a forward facing knee, its kind of a inconsequential detail. It'll look a lot better as is.
PrometheusTS
Why don't you just model new legs? the frontal ones shouln't have the same shape and bone structure than the rear , anyway I am wondering how will you do to add a new bone system for the front legs and then animate ... not that I dunno how but I wonder how to do so that it works in CE.... huntsman2310
And I have completed the model for the Wyvern. Take a look. http://www.image-share.com/upload/1153/154.jpg I deleted a few of the faces at the top of the new forelegs to make my own connections to the main body, I think it worked out pretty good. I've also found a strange problem in Nifskope when I load the NIF up. http://www.image-share.com/upload/1153/159.jpg The problem is when I deselect the mesh, it just appears as a black void. It may because since I've modified the mesh, I may have messed up the UV map and will need to regenerate it.
