bben46
SKSE = Skyrim Script Extender - A utility program that is needed for some (not many yet) mods to work at all. If it is needed it should say so in the mod description. Unless a mod is installed that needs it, it doesn't do anything at all. But if you try to run with a mod that does need it , and it is not there , you will probably crash.

PShepa
To make a clean install, I need to make sure no overclocking software is loaded. Correct? I've got a Nvidia GTX 480 which is overclocked, I think. I got my system through Cyberpower. Decent system, but I don't know what's what. How can you tell if there is any software loaded that would mess up a nVidia driver load? Secondly, to make sure I've got this right; 1. uninstall old driver, 2. close any firewalls and monitoring software. 3. unload any overclocking software. 4. install new driver. 5 option: install overclocking software 6. play game hopefully. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
scrivener07
I believe nvidia drivers will clean up previous versions through the installer.
luxwing0go
Latest beta nVidia drivers work good. Shorter load times and more FPS outdoors - was actually able to turn up a lot of setting without any frame loss. No crashes at all. Spawned 50 ancient dragons. Got some WTF lag - nothing more. Coupled with SKSE, game's smooth as silk. B) Even with the 1.3 patch lol.
maboru
Nvidia driver installs are no longer quite as easy as they used to be, I'd suggest you follow this long series of posts, it explains it very well and walks you through it step by step - http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1174372
