Ever since the game was patched to 1.8.7 i can no longer toggle on or off the effect "useoriginalcolorfilter" i do use enhanced wasteland preset and with this option on it makes the game look overly saturated and super bright apparently the option is off in the ENB control panel in game but when i try to toggle it on it doesn't do anything as if this effect is permanently on i even reinstalled ENB etc didn't fix the problem.. any advice would be great because this is really hurting my eyes

I've noticed several changes after 1.8.7 with my graphics, I use Improved and Expanded Everything 2, along with NAC, and before the update my game looked great, now everything is saturated and colors look almost pastel-cartoony like, I don't seem to have shadows on anything until it's pitch dark night time. During daylight, if I stand somewhere slightly up high I can see nearly to the other side of the map. It wasn't like this before.

I also don't even have to use headlamps until it's pitch dark, even in interiors. As you say, some settings in the enb, when toggled, don't seem to do anything anymore. I haven't had the time to try and reinstall my enb yet, I hope that will work.

Damn! 1.8.7!!! I use 1.7.15.0 which is just after Nukaworld. FO4 was messed up a bit after 1.7.15.0, but typically it goes like that. When 1.7.15.0 came out I un-installed an downloaded mods again to get updated ones an made the overall load order larger. By the time it was ready to play the game got patched. No f***ing way I was going to patch it. Hell pre 1.5-1.7 was probably more fun anyway. The only way I could use the backups I created is if they also had backup copies of the mods at the time. I have that for some of them, but there were a lot of versions of FO4.

To do that we use Steam. Top left Steam menu, backup an restore games. That will make a install disc, a compressed installer .exe separated into archives that can be separated into discs or storage amounts. Now once the game is un-installed, everything left inside the game's directory is pretty much all mods, compress that, and it's a backup. Don't forget the ini or hidden Appdata load order files though. NMM started doing this too though I haven't used it for that. In the old days we would just make backups of the downloaded mods so we wouldn't have to find or download it again, but the same process works for installed mods which is quicker anyway.

BACKUPS FOR YOUR BACKUPS! STOP THIS MADNESS! YOU SHALL NOT PASS! All that being said, you can't do that, because you didn't waste time doing that yet. Which means a revamp. Remove everything, and start over. Pick a new ENB preset  Pick new mods. Change the game. Whatever you made probably sucks, and you needed to do it sooner or later anyway. The game doesn't run all that well, it looks like crap, and it's super over powered hero complex. So maybe start there. If the game broke the ENB I had, though, I might just juxtaposition to some other game that doesn't have anything to do with this crap for a month, and then come back if I wanted.

  • 1 month later...

You are using the latest ENB aren't you?

ENBSeries v0.311

Actually, I have nothing but trouble with any ENBoost after the 0.283 version, which I still use. My ENB Vogue preset (any version from 1.3 to 1.9) has stopped working with v1.8.7 of the game, but SweetFX still does the trick somehow...
