I currently have a game download going in Steam. It's already been downloading for 7 hours, and it has another 4 to go. Why is it I have a wired, fiber optic internet connection on my pc, and an internet speed of 100mbps, and I can't break 360kbps (usually about 300) on Steam? Steam is limiting me for some reason. I assume they're limiting me intentionally to avoid server congestion, so I can't really blame them, I guess.

If that's not the case, does anyone know how to speed this up?

Deus Ex: HR was 10GB, and it downloaded way faster. It's definitely Steam though; my Nexus downloads and other downloads are as fast as ever. It's probably a holiday thing, with all the discounts they're offering.

EDIT: If I pause a download and switch server regions, will it have a chance of corrupting my download? I'd hate to wait through another ten hours. Lucky it's the holidays or I wouldn't have this much free time, lol.

Switching is fine, it'll carry on where it left off.
