Slava17
At this point, I really suggest getting a better computer. As for my computer, of course I know this isn't a gaming computer. It's a Surface Pro 3, 256 gig i7 model. Even though it has a crappy Intel HD 5000 graphics card, I've played many games without problems on it, especially indie games, or games that are a few years old. Some games are either poorly optimized, or massive in size, and those are the ones that have a hard time running. This computer is mainly to help me professionally, though in the near future hopefully I will be able to save enough $$ to either build my own solid desktop computer, or to pay someone to build one for me, I know a guy who has put out some real quality work. iXenite
Not everything in this mod series video will pertain to you as the graphics stuff is simply out of your reach with your current PC, with that said, the videos on NMM, SKSE, LOOT and so on will be helpful. I suggest watching those. Your game is likely broken due to inexperience with all of this, and these videos will teach how to actually mod your game. As for the PC stuff, just be careful gaming on that laptop you have. I know from personal experience you really shorten the lifespan of a laptop by straining it with tasks it shouldn't be doing. Just a friendly word of advice.
Slava17
I completely uninstalled everything to do with steam, Skyrim and gaming from my computer, and reinstalled it. I'll post again if this doesn't work. I'll watch the videos, but it isn't like I've got twenty mods installed right now. It might be more immediately efficient to add one on at a time and see how many I can get to work before needing to learn all the specifics. Other than using a very select few mods to help up my framerate, I obviously don't have the hardware to handle most anything else. So modding is something I'll try to get into more when I actually have a real rig.
Slava17
Pretty sure it's not a mod problem. Completely uninstalling then reinstalling helped a lot. Without mods, FPS is hovering around 35 at low settings. Still crashed though for some reason after the bear fight, when I was randomly climbing the walls looking to see if there were any secrets. FPS at that point was 38, I have no idea what it could possibly be. My computer's memory is passably good (8gm ram, i7 processor), and I don't have this problem on any other game that runs so well. Is there some sort of patch I could add to my mods?
ymf331
i think that regardless of whether you want to use a lot of mods, it would help to get mod organizer (so you don't have to change anything in your game directory) and take a few steps to stabilize your vanilla game. cleaning the itm records from all the vanilla dlcs, installing optimized textures, skse with the memory patch settings, crash fixes, bug fixes, project optimization... all that stuff will help. at that point you could grab any good-looking textures you want (noble skyrim is great for one) and just resize them with ordenator to 1k (i do 512 normals too). grass on steroids (or something similar) and better vanilla trees are good options for low-spec systems too. as long as the textures you install are the same or smaller than the vanilla ones you're good. people say you can't use certain mods, but it's just simply not true. with 1gb of vram i'm using an enb, 3 lighting mods, grass and flora mods, a water mod, a weather mod, and way better (looking) than vanilla textures and probably more scripts than people say you're supposed to. it's just a lot of work to pull off. and my computer will probably explode at some point.
