Hi Antistar, how's WARS going now? And please stay health

Still waiting on the AmmoTweaks update so I can integrate its framework in WARS. Like I said just a few comments back, I'm working on some Automatron-related stuff in PEACE at the moment.

 

That's meant I've picked up a few Automatron-related things to tweak in WARS too though; related to player-built robots using ammo. At the moment they get too much free ammo when you attach a weapon; I need to change it to be very little or ideally none, unless that causes some kind of problem. There's also a weird bug where the (robot) recharger laser weapons I added (that don't require ammo) don't seem to get used unless the robot starts with another weapon that does use ammo, and then runs out of ammo, prompting them to switch to the recharger. If they start with only a recharger, they just sit there, not attacking. Not sure what's going on there; I need to do more testing.

 

 

And yeah, doing my best to stay healthy; thanks. Things aren't great the world over right now of course, with COVID-19. Things aren't as bad in Australia as in some other parts of the world (at least so far), but I think there is the general feeling that we suffered through Black Summer (the bushfire crisis) and then immediately segued into this pandemic... only punctuated by widespread flooding and damaging storm weather in between. Fire and flood and plague.

 

If you think about the global shortage of P2/N95 masks though, well that's not a new thing here; again we're coming right out of a bushfire crisis of unprecedented scope. P2/N95 masks were already in incredibly short supply over the summer. I was fortunate enough to see where things were going just in time to get a P2 half-face dual-filter respirator before everything like that flew off the shelves at the end of December. It meant I could keep getting some exercise in the outdoors, smoky as it was - even if it did mean that I looked and sounded like a day-glo Darth Vader.

 

That may actually turn out to be a good thing, in a way; I can't be the only one with P2 masks leftover from Black Summer. They may well come in handy again, for a different reason.

 

 

So... as frustrating as it is - and like with Black Summer - I've been distracted from working on the mods while I try to get prepared as best I can. Emergencies are emergencies though; it can't be helped. I am still working on them when I can though, and that may settle back into a more regular rhythm once it gets to the point where all we can do is wait all this out. (And wash our hands a lot.)

Argh, this is like waiting for Christmas when I was 8. Still, the weapon racks are complete awesomesauce.

 

Yeah, I live in central Alberta, some of the fires we've had have burned towns to ground. Consider investing in asbestos underwear.

We have had some dope 5.6 earthquake action on top of the spread of covid-19 here in Utah. All this stuff happening everywhere makes it feel like some sort of apocalyptic film.

I really hope you can soon, but honestly i think the AmmoTweaks update will never be released due to lack of motivation or something.

It's been in development for so long now and most of the time those things get cancelled or you never hear about them again.

But i might be completely wrong about that.

 

Other than that stay healthy and keep up the good work man.

I can understand thinking that as a result of not hearing anything direct about AmmoTweaks' status for a long time, but like I said on the previous page:

Yeah, WARS without the framework in AmmoTweaks v2 would be a pale shadow of what I'm aiming for with it. And I do have confidence that the AmmoTweaks update will see the light of day; I hear from isathar semi-regularly about how it's going.

And obviously now most of all you'll need to be patient with anyone doing something in their spare time; virtually the whole world is dealing with some scary stuff at the moment.

Not a great time to be a human right now. Here it feels like it could either explode at any moment or simmer away as a constant threat for months/years before eventually fizzling out. No idea which way it's going to go.

 

I'd actually prefer to be in New Zealand right now. (I mean I usually feel that way, but for different reasons this time.) They're under much more stringent restrictions than we are, but from where I'm standing they look to have a much better chance of just straight-up wiping out COVID-19 across the whole country as a result.

I hear you antistar, kind of the same for Canada right now, they waited too long to make the restrictions law and now covid 19 is in Canada more than it could've been, blame the jerks that think they're invincible and didn't take this pandemic seriously, as well as were just outright selfish and had no consideration for others, hopefully it simmers down sooner than later.
