JimboUK
Yes i got the damn thing today and I'M f***ing PISSED! Do they not screen their files before they release them to the public? I'll never recommend this place anymore that's for sure..I been at it for 9 hours now and i cant get rid of it..I thought i did but i still can't access my CD drive all my files are hidden and it keeps giving me errors on my catalyst control center..I haven't played Skyrim for a month and i regret getting the f***ing urge to play it today now and d/l the texture pack..if anyone's wondering that is the file it was in..so be careful Why not give some more accurate details, it might prove helpful. Is this texture file an executable? If so then which file is it? If it isn't an executable but rather just a bunch of textures then you need to look elsewhere. bben46
PC tools is probably not going to completely remove a rootkit virus as it has modified your boot sector - So the virus is being loaded before the antivirus  and is able to block the antivirus from removing it. Here is the most comprehensive set of instructions on virus removal I know of.http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407
luxwing0go
Mah, I got that crap twice in a week once. The very first time I got it I freaked because it replaces all your .exe programs to think you got a virus and have to download their "program". Malwarebytes Anti Malware is a free program that scans for viruses - it also resets your .exe files to work correctly after that particular virus have been completely removed (let it finish scanning). A lot easier and safer than messing around in your system if you are unsure if you might break something, lol. Also, opening programs as Administrator still works while the virus is in your comp. In case you can't get it open. Edited January 13, 2012 by luxwing0go
Deleted133263User
Here's another good help site for malware problems http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum22.html Register, post a new topic at that link, and wait (Dont bump, an un-answered topic will get the attention it needs quicker than an answered topic (by your own bump)) It can take up to five days to get a response, they are in demand because they are good at solving these problems. And follow instructions precisely. If your next step seems like paying for help, or reformatting your hard drive and re-installing everything from the operating system up (the best way of getting rid of malware - so long as you have an operating system DISK, and not dependant on a hidden OS partition which may be fubarred with a boot loading rootkit virus) .. Then those guys can help, if you have the patience to wait, and follow instructions to the letter and not do anything else. P.S. Pointing at particular downloads from a site may not have been the source of the infection in the first instance.
jimuno
Just one more justification for a native Linux version. Viruses and Linux don't play well together.

absinthefan
hey i aswell have been some popups when im nexus to a "site" that says i have virus and my antivirus wants to kill the site asap,. is it one of the commercials there is tainted with some malicous software or something becouse its really worrying and i love the site otherwise but im not comfortable with it showing up from time to timeand yes, im sure its only from this site and i have a clean pc otherwise, scanned it often and so on,.it would be a bad thing if the side starts linking to stuff like that as people with less expirience might not now how to avoid it,. and would be a bad reputation to get if folks started getting virus and trojan horsies from nexus,. we cant have that,. im using internet explorer 9 i believe,. and i update my antivirus program as they become available,. hope its possible to find some souce to the issue and kill it! :)
buddah
Better scan your system and do not click on it. It is picked up elsewhere as a sleeper, then it is activated when certain java scripts run. bben has posted a link for you to get help: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/511054-highly-agressive-virus-on-the-loos-eon-skyrim-nexus/page__view__findpost__p__4297185
Deleted472477User
I got a virus on my old laptop last year through an ad that popped up while visiting DeviantArt. I had to get it removed professionally, and they gave me McAfee. When it happened again 3 months later (was visiting another legit website, and again, it came in through an ad) I had it done again, and this time, installed Malwarebytes and Firefox, and installed an ad blocker. No problems since. It sucks badly. I hope you can rid it.
