Summerset Isle DLC

With the Thalmor being such a big part of this game, wouldn't a trip to the High Elf homeland sound like a perfect idea for DLC? Just like Oblivion's Shivering Isles, a new open world with a lot of new content would be great for Skyrim. Have a Thalmor related quest. That place has always interested me. In Elder Scrolls lore, the island disappeared 100 years before the events in The Elder Scrolls V, so maybe it coming back could be an interesting plot as well.

Yea and they should make it continue the story, like if you sided with the Empire you get to raid their homeland with soldiers and stuff.

meh me personally i'm foreseeing something more methodical, especially lore-wise. everyone knows the landmass of Morrowind and Cyrodil are in the game just not accessible. This is my theory;

The only thing that drove the Akaviri Invasion thousands of years ago was because they were looking for one person; The Dragonborn of course who at the time was Reptim Cyrodil. Morrowind is the farthest eastern landmass to Akavir so they would more than likely make landfall there. There is another Dragonborn alive in Tamriel so perhaps they have some knowledge of that and are coming to find him/her. in the original lore they first arrived to vow their allegiance to the Dragonborn which gave the Empire a huge army. What does Skyrim need the most right now with an impending Thallmor Invasion?

I get the impression its a buildup to exploring whats left of Vvardenfell (due to the eruption of Red Mountain), getting the allegiance and loyalty of the Akaviri war machine and reinforcing the Imperial Legion or Stormcloak Regime into driving the Aldmeri Dominion back into Valenwood.

Just a theory though.

i really hope they will let us invade summerset/defend skyrim from Thalmor invaders :P

i also have an idea, but its...well....simpler :)

you can only start the DLC Quest series after completing either Stormcloak or Emperial quests:

Stormcloak: after throwing the empire out of Skyrim, the Aldmeri Dominion trys to invade Skyrim but suffer great losses

and they retreat...and now the stormcloaks are invading the summerset isles to kick some ass xD

Emperial: after they put down the rebellion everything seems fine at first, but soon after defeating Ulfric the remaining stormcloaks sneak

into the Thalmor Embassy and kill everyone. The outraged Thalmor declare that they have endured the incompetence of Skyrims Leaders

long enough and will dispose of them and their followers. General Tullius calls an meeting with the jarls and explains the situation.

they quickly decide to work together and defend skyrim.

and then its the same as the "stormcloak-route". they invade, epic battle, invade summerset.....

p.s.: sorry for my English (i'm german) ^^

The Summerset Isles themselves didn't disappear. It was only the (smallish) island which the Psjic Order were on which disappeared.

But yeah, exploring Summerset would be fairly awesome, and you could do a fair amount with the quest-line. The only problem here is the whole "no humans allowed" thing. Elf disguises?
