Varichi Posted December 14, 2016 Share Posted December 14, 2016 Like Kroekr said, an uninstall does not completely remove all files. Having it in a different directory will prevent it from using your old Data files if there are any left, but you should check both your Skyrim folder in My Docs and your AppData folder to make sure everything is deleted there. ms50 Posted June 13, 2022 Share Posted June 13, 2022 I have reinstalled game (after removing all files), I have done everything I can possibly think of, it still says :Fatal: Could not open registry key:\SOFTWARE\Bethesda\Softworks\Skyrim\ This can happen after Steam updates, run game's launcher to restore registry settings.
