Ukuboy
Just curious whether we'll ever see a total conversion mod for Fallout 4. Personally I thought Enderal was better than Skyrim. I can only imagine the things a team could do with FO4. I would specifically look for a storyline that let's you choose a path whether it's good, evil, or neutral. Fallout 4's whole thing of helping factions and settlements was kind of lame. I would have liked the option to just destroy everything and make my own world. I don't know though, if a total conversion mod comes about that'd be awesome, it's whatever though.
damanding
Those kinds of mods take a team of people years to complete. FO4 has only been out for a year. Give it time.
spoungeeddieIV
it would be cool to see a storyline deal with the gap inbetween fallout 2 and
crawe1x
You mean like this: http://falloutcascadia.com/ I think there are a few others currently in development. But like damanding says, these sorts of projects take years and involve large teams of experienced modders, I'm sure some of whom may even be professional game developers by day. Arclite250
What kind of full conversion mod would you guys be looking for? I don't know of any full conversion mods that change the theme completely for Fallout games, so I doubt that has been done before. People seam to stick to the Fallout theme when making a full conversion mod. But it seams that most of the successful full conversion mods change the theme of a game completely. Like Counter Strike and DayZ. Edited December 12, 2016 by StormEagle150
Athanasa
I think the success of DayZ is due to the popularity of the survival zombie apocalypse genre at the time, rather than because it was a conversion. Some of the most popular mods for Skyrim were based around survival too. Thing is, Fallout 4 already has survival and zombies by default. It's covered those two genres. It's even got base building aspects too. What would you change it to? Fantasy? We have Skyrim. Add dinosaurs? That'd be ARK. Theoretically you could remove the mutants and radiation and make it a civil war or something, or some sort of plague. A plot change, more than anything. Maybe turn it into a woodland survival simulator?

Athanasa
And so was imagined a damned good idea. <Bows> It's about the only thing you could REASONABLY make quickly, I guess. Hell, remove all the nuclear crap and you wouldn't have to redesign the worldspaces much. FO4's state of "decay" is basically locked in time 10 years after it all goes to hell anyway. No need to redesign the environment (apart from replacing the Glowing Sea and any barrels of nuke crap).
damanding
I'm just picturing Skyrim's answer to civil war quests...and it's not a pretty picture.
Athanasa
I'm just picturing Skyrim's answer to civil war quests...and it's not a pretty picture.General, a settl-- I mean outpost -- needs your help! As further thought, maybe a rejig where nuclear power is magic. Kind of magiteck themed - 1920s, 2nd world war equivalent. Advances in science go hand in hand with advances with magic. Except being "irradiated" by magic doesn't kill you, it sends you mad (Enderal has something similar, I think?) and you start murdering people. Anyway, nukes are swapped with dirty-magic bombs. People already in tune with and using magic (and magic based tech) are more vulnerable. Magical items work less / not at all / malfunction dangerously in these areas. Basically imagine a constant EMP field that fries electronics, except replace electricity with magic. Then have it make you smell purple, taste G major and see savoury. Hell, maybe make it non-war. A magical crystal comet or meteor breaks up over the continent, showering it with lumps of this crap. Directly affected regions collapse as their infrastructure fails, the mighty are equalised, the chaos spreads. Disenfranchised and magic resistant individuals use the crazy magic junk to further strike at the elite. Science desperately tries to explore other energy sources, but is hampered by the loss of the magical tools they relied on. WW2 type guns, magical insanity, mutations, fallout. Hell, it's even got a better moral choice than Fallout: 1. Support restoring things to the way they were2. Go full on anti magic, for the development of non magical replacements2.5. Full non magic - overthrow it all, no thoughts to the future. Send progress back to the dark ages.3. Aim for a balance - acknowledge the flaws in magic, but also it's strengths. Support non magical technology, but as a compliment and alternative to magic rather than a replacement.4. Join the shady people beginning to harness this new magic and s#*! fireballs, eventually heading to a ruling elite of crazy mages (new magic causes old magitech to not work, and does not work as a replacement - dark age of technology, but crazy high magic) Featuring:TotallyNotTesla, non-magical science genius (neutral)NotEinstein, magiscience genius (neutral)ProbablyFord, anti-magic mass manufacturer. Inspired by that dude in Legend of Korra. ... I need to make a thread for this when we get home. Edited December 14, 2016 by Athanasa
