@Atrican: +1 Agreed. Most people on this thread understand & agree with you I'm sure.

If I recall correctly, I believe the SKSE team stated they would be working closely to get out SkyUI, since the original author did not want to be at the forefront of putting that out. I for one would prefer to see SKSE released with that done. That said, can anyone correct me if I'm wrong. I can't find where I read that, but I think I'm right about that. Can anyone confirm this? Would be nice to get back on topic.

BeHippo stated in comments on his December YOUTUBE vid... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3b9pcgzZSk&t=13s

"We're working directly with the SkyUI team. I've got access to the source and the one menu that needs to be modified. Once the Menu hooks come online I'll be working to make sure SkyUI is functioning properly. If all goes as planned, SkyUI will be available soon after SKSE64 releases.

Q: Are we there yet?

A: No.

There.

Now we don't need to distract Behippo and team by asking. And they need not distract themselves by answering.

I seem to remember answering the kids the same way many, many, many times.

Come to think of it...I seem to remember being on the other end of that sort of question too.

Why does everyone keep being so snarky when people ask about the release date? Giving them s*** when they ask does nothing but piss them off, and doesn't actually help them be patient at all; blaming their impatience on why games are a bit crap nowadays is a bit hyperbolic and just plain rude. I can understand the frustration at the constant questions, but taking it out on them is just silly.

Thanks for posting ... anything, at least. But I'm not sure what I should read into it. Does that mean that you, as the main SkyUI developer, haven't heard a word from the SKSE team in the last couple months?

I don't think there has been progress since December. Which is not unsual BTW. Work is usually done in bursts with months of inactivity in between, and more or less autonomously.

My comment regarding whether there would be SkyUI 5 for SE was: "I don't know, but I think it's unlikely." It was just my realistic assessment based on experiences of the last 10 years, and if you go by that, you should assume that it's not going to happen (and be positively surprised if it turns out I was wrong).

Are you just being a bit pessimistic to lower everyone's expectations, or do you have certain knowledge that there has been no progress since December?

u do know that schlangster is the main SkyUI developer? there's no reason why the SKSE team would not keep him posted. I don't think it's fair of u to say that he's "lowering everyone's expectations"... he did say before that he would not porting SkyUI to SSE unless someone helps with the details.

Ha! It wouldn't be such a bad thing if they charged for SKSE64. That way they could pay for the dev and it might generate revenue. Besides, I got the SE for free since I had the entire DLC, and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if there was a reasonable price for it.

I do hate the fact that Beth is putting its largest fan base on hold and keeping us in the dark.

TES6 is due to come out on the 32nd of Juvember, msayin. Here we are, pining for TES5SE, and there is money left on the table Beth!

The devs can take a minute out of the grind to make one post. And if this comment about 0 progress is true then they could afford some smoke to vail the truth.

Meanwhile, I'm gonna just sit here with my hopes up.

Yes, I do know that. The way he phrased it was "I don't think there has been progress since December". That isn't a definitive statement. The phrase "I don't think" implies that it is speculative. I was just asking him to clarify it. In a text based medium like this I think it is usually a very bad idea to read between the lines or otherwise make assumptions about someone's intent.
