What's stopping this from being real?

I'm just curious, what's stopping modders from making jvk1166z.esp be a real mod instead of just a story? Cuz from reading the story, it sounds like the actual changes to the game itself aren't actually that complicated when compared to most of the bigger mods. So it sounds to me like it would be simple for most of the modders who know what they're doing. So it's just making me wonder what's been stopping modders for years from making this mod a reality? Even if it's just the changes to the game itself and does not include any of the file corruption or DOSbox stuff? And of course I'm not including any of the irl stuff from the story either XD I'm just talking about the game itself.

Well, in theroy there is nothing keeping it from being real. If it was It would of been created by a very handy programmer. It's all computer data, and if you are skilled enough anything is possible.

 

The thing is, we would have more evidence of its existence if it really did happen, photos can't be trusted, as it's easy to create fake photos.

It is definitely a good Halloween story I must admit.

Re-reading the story (been a while) I'd say the reasons this hasn't happened include:

Need new animations (that's huge)

Schedules for all the NPCs in game

Voiced dialogue

A huge dungeon. Unless you use GenMod. So a huge, interesting dungeon.

Numerous new meshes and textures. Maybe could "just" do re-textures.

Reading local files and displaying in-game. AFAIK, impossible.

Need some MGE / MGE XE scripting voodoo

And then that stuff in the last third, I have no idea.

 

So. Yeah. Mega-tonne of work for someone.

Yeah go make the mod your self

but the custom models might be tough because

there is no way to export models into the .nif file format anymore.

Can you stop spreading disinformation? If you'd phrased that

there is no way that I have found to export models into the .nif file format anymore.

Then that would've been fine.
