kturcotte1980
Completely deleted EVERYTHING Skyrim SE related on my computer (All game files and mods). Downloaded Skyrim SE again through Steam. I'm attempting to clean the main files (Update, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, & Dragonborn). Downloaded SSEEdit. SSEEdit says it can't find Skyrim SE. When I try to open SSEEdit, I get the error message: "Fatal: Could not determine my documents folder" Once open, I get this message: "SSEEdit 3.2 starting session 2017-01-04 23:03:20 Using Skyrim Special Edition Data Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\ Using ini: Fatal: Could not find ini" I have not touched or done ANYTHING with the files that Steam loaded yet other than opening Skyrim SE. I haven't installed any mods yet either. What am I doing wrong? Link to my Google Drive showing my Skyrim SE folder, Skyrim SE Data folder, SSEEdit folder (Everything it downloaded and was unzipped), and the SSEEdit program itself with the error: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8Hi7HLjcBO7Z0xDa1UxbGZoQ1U Not sure what I'm doing wrong or what's missing. I should note that Nexus Mod Manager and Loot don't have any trouble finding Skyrim SE. Edited January 5, 2017 by kturcotte1980
Kroekr
You should not install SSE in program files to prevent UAC issues. Once installed, run SSE from the launcher to create the ini file in my documents\my games\skyrim special edition folder

Once installed, run SSE from the launcher to create the ini file in my documents\my games\skyrim special edition folderSteam installed them by default. I also have UAC turned off. I did figure out the problem though. It was my Anti Malware (Bitdefender) that was causing the problem. As soon as I turned off all its protection modules, SSEEdit found everything and I managed to get everything cleaned
gougluinn
i simply deleted skyrim and installed it on different path and after that sseedit didn't find the files. and there is no option in sseedit for locating skyrim install path i guess. so since there is no uninstall option for sseedit how can we delete all of its files and registrers? KainThePheonix
The best way is to install a mod manually in the main Data folder clean it and migrate it back to Mod Organizer 2. This is likely the only workaround for not being able to locate or generate an INI. I used the main file and there is still no SSEdit INI anywhere.
