Halororor
I recently took a 6 month break from oblivion because it was getting kinda boring and I broke the experience by messing around with the console. Now I am playing it again and I am astounded by how fun it realy is, but something still feels missing. Does anyone have any ideas for making the experience even better , like great mods or general tips. But please, nothing about OOO.... :wallbash:
maestro4202
I have something to add along the same vein so I'll keep it in this thread. When I first got Oblivion a year ago (probably longer), it ran like crap on my PC, the game was OK, not great but ok...It was so sluggish I basically skimmed thru it like a tourist until the game crashed on the main story and I couldn't continue. Now that I've been playing it on my new PC, its like a whole new game. I've officially gotten sucked into the role playing...doing quests in Oblivion is like hot chocolate for the soul...its just so fun to wander around Ceridodyl (Spelling..sorry) looking for quests to get wrapped up in. So far, I've finished the Arena, Mages guild and Fighters Guild. My question is does anyone know if theres some other big things to do in regular Oblivion. Like, is there some big series of quests I'm still missing? Is there an alchemy plotline and a necromancer plotline? I was thinking of these but not sure..-Thieves Guild quests...I will inevitably do these, but I'm not all that into robbing people so would prefer something else...-The main story..as I learned the hard way..once you get Oblivion gates to show..you have to be commited to finishing it all...otherwise you have to deal with those damn gates always getting in your way and are a eyesore on the landscape.-I'm not gonna become a vampire this time...theres no cool bloodsucking animations, and being penalized for being in daytime is kinda bummer. I knows theres tons of side quests to do, you just have to wander into inns and things and ask around..but maybe someone can point me in the direction of something substantial. Ive read on Gamespot they said Oblivion has 200 hours of gameplay, 300 I read on PC gamer..and I'm level 14 at about hour 50 now so I KNOW theres much more to do. And Halororor..If i had to give you some advice, my first thing would be a question of what your system specs are, coz only a fool denies that a better pc equals a more immersive expirience, especially with Oblivion. Second, I would add that for me, the best way to play Oblivion was understand the game is not about winning (like other games) its about the ride there. I think if you embrace the concept of roleplaying, looking into the characters faces when they tell you their stories and try to feel some emotion for them and the tasks they give you, the immersion will really flip you head over heels, and the real heart and soul of the game revealed to you. And lastly, I would recommend the Enhanced Terrain mod..you wouldn't believe the difference this mod makes to the game in general.
MalachiDelacot
A few quests that aren't mods......the collector...Talos area, Umyunderwear or what ever his name is sends you after some statues and a few other things. The Good as New store owner has a quest. The rude Countess of Bruma can send you through Pale Pass. The little village north of IC is a minor one. Roxy Inn...NE of IC, minor quest. Those are some that come to mind. I'm sure somebody, somewhere, has a complete list of all the quests in Oblivion. I'm too lazy to hunt for it. mandendersked
You can see a complete list of minor quests at UESP.net If you're playing a dark character and like the roleplaying aspect, i can recommend Reneers Guard overhaul. I really liked that. Otherwise i think the Lost Spires is a great mod too. :)

GenghisKhanIT
Go collecting all the Nirnroots you can find, they are totally worthless, but exploring is a very good thing. I've discovered almost all the locations before anyone pointed them to me.

You're right there, but I got a high spec pc, so it's fine by me.

I'm going to hint you in the general direction of it: Kill an innocent person, don't get caught. If you have actually missed this, I ASSURE YOU that you're up for a real treat. This big series of quests is absolutely awesome, and as far as story-driven single playing goes, it's propably the best I've ever experienced. Except for Sonic The Hedgehog 3
wizardmirth
If you're an old hand then you won't mind moving the difficulty slider way over to the right until giant red warning lights start shooting out of the screen. Find the perfect combination of mods that defines your perfect gamplay style.
