xanordon
How can anyone choose the option of joining the Imperial side? They *were* just about to cut your head off in the beginning, right? And if it hadn't been for the dragon putting in an appearance, they *would have* cut your head off, n'est-ce pas? It's a bit like the option of betraying Mr House in Fallout New Vegas, after he and his robot saved your life at the beginning of the game. What do you think about that? Shouldn't you be *against* the enemy, rather than helping them?
InuyashaFE
Have you read the dossier on Ulfric Stormcloak? Or gone to Windhelm and seen a thing called the 'Gray Quarter'?
surg23
I think it's dependent on which Race you pick. If you are a Nord then the logical choice would be to war against those seeking to oppress your people and take control of your homeland. Well i guess i shouldn't pass judgment on this as i still haven't sided with either, even after 200 hours of play. :whistling: Edited January 11, 2012 by surg23
Rabbit1251
I have been running a Khajitty and she behaves very neutral to to the question of Nord/Imperial politics. She's not even liked in some of the Nord cities that she has visited. And, yes, the Imperials tried to bump her off. Rabbit

I too was pissed when Hadvar told me to join the legion, albeit he knew its a big step from being killed by the legion to joining them an hour later. I too was WTF you want form me? I didn't make a decision whom to join until several months into the game. A vast visit in Windhelm, talking with all the NPCs and listening a while to Ulfric in his palace of kings (i mean his idle talk when you do not converse with him, and his talk about why he fights) etc. What real life analogies come to your mind how this all works? Back then I had suddenly an urgent desire to thrust a dagger right into Ulfric when listening to him :-) Edited January 11, 2012 by faifh
JanusForbeare
If you think the Imperials are the enemy, then you're gonna flip when you meet the Thalmor. Things get way better if the Imperials win the war. At least, my dunmer thought so.

Halororor
Did you know that the only thing keeping the Aldmeri Dominion from overrunning Skyrim entirely is their agreement with the Imperials? Remove the Imperials and voila! Thalmor are free to conquer Skyrim. Think with your head, not your heart. :P
TotallyNotToastyFresh
Because the Stormcloaks winning over the Empire would cripple the Empire meaning the Thalmor would soon take over. They're completely evil and want to end up being immortal. Ulfric is in the wrong because he could have thrown in his lot with the Empire and found a way to unite their forces against the Thalmor. Think with your head, not your heart. :P Ulfric explained it to me that way (somewhere in the imperial questline): "First we take over Skyrim, then we take over the empire, then we take over the Thalmor." Well thats an egomaniac dictator. Might have as well asked ""I ask you: Do you want total war? If necessary, do you want a war more total and radical than anything that we can even imagine today?"
