black screen and hard reset

Hi there!

I played a lot of F4 without single crash, (7 days time in game). I guess I'm out of luck right now. After few minutes of gameplay I getting black screen, kind of loop sound and there is nothing I can do, have to hard reset my computer every single time. Any solution for this?

If you use a SSD, skip part 1.

1. defragment your harddrive (the engine goes into stall, if something wont come in time)

2. Check your temperatures (CPU, GPU, Mainboard, and even harddrive)

3. Check for drivers

4. Check for Updates for FO4

If its none of the above, please provide a list of your installed mods.

The short loop sound indicates something gets stuck somewhere.

Doing SharraShimada's checks can't hurt (including soundcard drivers, should you have a soundcard), but there could be a RAM issue, too...

If the game isn't installed on the same drive as your operating system, check power- and data connections for the drive that has the game on it. Should the game be on a separate SSD drive, then check the manufacturer's website to see if the drive needs a firmware update (if it's the same drive that has the OS, in both scenarios I described the PC would give a BSoD).

Not sure if this will fix your problem but it seems similar to what is happening to you. Maybe you could try it

take a look in the comments:

Nope, didnt help me, but thanks anyway! I start thinking maybe its something with hard-drive, but I have no idea why, every other game runs perfecto.

Do you use FO4Edit? You should if you don't.

I have FO4Edit but there was no point of using it so far.

Computer runs fine in other games, I bought my rig last year.

My spec:

GPU: Sapphire ATI Radeon R9 390 Nitro 8GB DDR5/512bit DVI/HDMI/DP

CPU: Intel Core i5 6600 LGA1151 BOX

HDD: Seagate Desktop 1TB SATA3 (ST1000DM003) - disk where game is.

SSD: Transcend SSD SSD370 128GB SATA3 (TS128GSSD370S) - disk where system is, (windows 10).

Power: XFX Core 550W

Motherboard: MSI B150M PRO-VDH Intel B150 LGA1151 BOX

Try ENBoost so that a game can use system RAM as V-RAM. Despite the 8GB GPU, the game will only use a max of 4GB from the card (it does so with my RX470 8GB) but still has spikes of over 10GB of RAM use.

Also, I wouldn't do anything too power-consuming with that 550W PSU. The GPU has a potential max use of 375W. Add some 65/70W for the CPU and 50/100W for peripherals and you haven't got much headroom left...
