I wasn't all that impressed with Skyrim's endless dungeon crawling but there's SO much less that needs to be fixed than Fallout 4.

I know there are mods in progress, but I mean, where are the GOOD mods. Not the weapon mods, not the weapon mods, but the mods that add real animals, turn Boston civilized? Boston as a battleground would be fine except it wasn't nuked. It should be as civilized as Vegas, if not more so. Give me a mod where I can basically block cleare and allow others to take over and civilize like Rebuild 2, I'll start to feel that sense of accomplishment I've never gotten from Fallout 4.

Where are the good mods? I'd have a few words for you.. but there are rules here.

would almost suggest you start in a cattle farm with a shovel

then present that to him

on a nice plate

with a side order of yellow beverage to wash it down

Really? There are over 15,000 mods for Fallout 4 and you cannot find one "good" one. That is pretty insulting to every mod maker out there.

<snip>

<insert James Earl Jones voiceover> The entitlement is strong with this one ...

No, I wish it was entitlement, it's very much disappointment. I never, ever under any circumstances pay full price for a game, and yet I paid 90 bucks for a game I wouldn't buy for 20. This game is awful and makes me ashamed to be a Fallout fan, though not an RPG fan because it's not an RPG. I'm not interested in Far Cry, and have never spent a penny on it. You couldn't pay me to play Minecraft, and what I have a poor man's Far Cry/Minecraft knockoff. And what I mean by good I should clirfy what I meant: this game is so bad a normal weapons mod is like painting a room who's walls are filled with termites. f*#@er needs to be fumigated, if not knocked down and completely rebuilt.

If I could get that 90 bucks back, I'd delete the game off my library and pretend it never happened. Purchasing it was an embarrassment. I mean it's taught me what I don't want in a game but cripes it's an expensive lesson.

You do know that you don't HAVE to play the "minecraft" part, right? In fact, it's hard to miss that fact, since most LP-ers I've watched play it, do at most a episode or two of building and then end up ignoring it for the sake of not boring the viewers. Including some major Minecraft LP-ers, like Gronkh. And guess what? They manage to do just fine without it.

In fact, here's another secret: without mods to remove the settlement caps, the "minecraft" part is actually <bleep>ing useless and a waste of resources. They cap so low and early on food, water and components in vanilla, that they'll stop collecting anything at all if you don't do a grand tour to collect the resources from the workshop every other day or so. Mind you, WITH an uncapper mod, it can be worth it, but otherwise why the hell were you even doing it, anyway?

Oh, see, I actually DID ignore the the mincraft section as much as humanly possible. That I had to use it at all I found deeply annoying. So I don't even know about there being a cap. My problem is that instead of having fleshed out settlements with, you know interesting achitecture, like say Markarth in Skyrim, or the city Vivec lives in Morrowind or even Tower based community like Tenpenny Tower. Diamond City is a f*#@ing disgrace because Diamond City should be at least all of Boston between the Charles River and Jamaica Plains. There should have been fishing communities on the coast, someone trying to refurbish Vault 95, and for God's sake they needed something to justify how big the Mechanist's lair was. In Boston, by the sea no less. Goodneighbor is great though, it just needs to be all of Boston that ain't upscale.

But see, all that could be axed in favor of building spots. Moreover, Town building CAN be fun, witness Nipton Rebuilt, Helgen Reborn or even The New Bison Steve, albiet that's for just one building in Primm. But you notice what you don't do in those. You don't actually have to build everything yourself. That's a chore. Building a Vault in Fallout Shelter was still fun because it was only a little more hands on. Tropico is fun preciely because all you need to do is build one building at a time, you don't have to build it piece by piece, you don't have to do interior decorating, you put it down and the pops take care of it. In both cases you can train and build up your pops. Fallout Shelter is pretty simple and Fallout 4 rips out anything that made it fun.

I would rather they have put that time into writing a better story, or thinking about how to have their worldbuilding make sense. Do it right, or don't do it at all. And they shouldn't have done the Minecraft s#*! at all. Save that for a mod I never wanted to play in the first place.
