JimboUK
Does anyone know what these are doing in the Skyrim.esm? http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/1631/sky2u.jpg http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/4112/sky3u.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/6944/sky4s.jpg Would removing useless crap like this help with performance? ub3rman123
Probably just leftovers from FO3, and no, probably not. Might even mess something up if it's relied on in-game. Weren't there still options for spell effects in FO3?
JimboUK
Yeah I think there were, there's also stuff about betting on an arena in Skyrims esm, either something left out or the remains of Oblivion.
Vagrant0
The reason why those settings exist is because there are probably some remnants of code which still refer to them for one reason or another. Even if they aren't being used, removing them would not improve performance since these variables would be dormant. Chances are that whatever uses these settings is buried in the engine code, and was not something that made sense to remove given that they will probably be working on a new Fallout soon. Why reinvent the wheel twice?
Fatalmasterpiece
I'm hoping they have already been working on FO4
antonkr
I'm hoping they have already been working on FO4I doubt it. We haven't seen any DLC yet (obviously they are working on them), but I doubt the team is focused on such a thing right now. Maybe some drafting ? As far as I know they overlap, possibly with a different team. They worked on Fallout 3 while working on Oblivion. In this article Todd says they were working on two projects, with one of course being Skyrim. What the other is, I'm hoping, could be Fallout 4. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-08-16-bethesdas-todd-howard-interview
BlackCompany
If Bethesda, as opposed to Obsidian, make Fallout 4, in this engine, I for one will pass. You have access these days to both Unreal 3 and especially Idtech 5 (bethesda literally owns it, now.) Why, oh why, would you make the next Fallout game in this engine? Why not make it using tech proven to work well with FPS style games? Not to mention the last Fallout, New Vegas, was a role playing game. Tried and true, my-decisions-matter RPG. Give it back to Bethesda and it becomes another linear-plot-in-an-open-world action game with perks. Ugh. Perish the thought.

That comment of Sawyer from Obsidian bout Beth's tech bad performance pretty much said "We wont be making stuff for them ever again" i think : /
