Ondrea
HA! Older player here too. Played before multiplayer was a thing and then when it did hit we did it on 56k. Talk about painful. @Ondrea, I have 2 toons for male and 2 for female and I must agree with your husband. The female dialog is just better IMHO. The eye candy is just icing on the cake. :smile:I remember my first internet connection was through Prodigy Online, some of my first games being the King's Quest series, and then discovering multiplayer with EverQuest. Boy that was a long time ago.

Just woke up a few weeks ago. :woot:
jones177
I play a female because a big part of the game for me is to create an attractive one. It started with Oblivion back in 2007. The female characters I created looked terrible so I was always tweaking their looks as I played. It took a long time but my female characters started to look good. This obsession with female character creation is one of the reasons I like to play these types of games. I do keep in mind what Lucas says "Pretty Don't Stop Bullets" Later

Without mods? I mean, with mods it was easy. Once you got Ren's elves or DesuChan's dolls or something, hell, it was harder to end up with something ugly even if you tried. But vanilla? Honestly, I was so used to the TES characters ending up looking like they were beat up savagely with the ugly stick... hell, make that, fell face first into the uncanny valley, and hit a whole ugly tree or two on the way down... that I expected the first thing I'd mod for Skyrim would be a burqa. I was totally surprised when a Beth game actually came out with a nice face edutor for a change. And not just the females. I had to create my own Asgardian race for FO3 and NV, just to have SOME decent looking male to pose my weapons with. And played for a while with a modified elf female face on a male skull. Looked a bit like a Japanese RPG bishounen. Anyway, if you eventually got the hang of the Oblivion editor and actually managed to get a decent face without mods... All respect. I'm impressed. In that respect I failed. I did find this site looking for solutions for my ugly characters. At least that was a big success. Later

I do keep in mind what Lucas says "Pretty Don't Stop Bullets" Later The last un-modded game I played was Oblivion. Yes, 8 yrs later(missed the DLC first time) I was able to make a few pretty females( a redguard and a Imperial). Beth usually did a pretty bad job with your char create options. I mean there would be one set of eyes or hair that didn't look too bad. In FO4, the vanilla char create was already light years ahead of anything they previously released- and mod authors made it where you could create some chars that are visually stunning(females mostly). Poor us. Men just don't get the love in video games that women do. After looking back and seeing how much games have progressed, it will be interesting to see where we are in another decade or so. su01rimi
When I startet I chose a female char to see a sexy woman in 3rd view. Later to see a beautiful woman (clothes dont need to be skimpy). Later because I was interested in the perspective (I played second life as male and as female and no doubt: men can really be unbelievable assholes). Today I mostly play female chars because I have the impression to be more complete/perfect/entire. Did you see a developement in the principal reasons why you play as female or male? No. No development. I just like to make sexy female characters that shoot guns and blow s*** up! Yes, a female char has to be sexy (I have to confess that in real life every woman is sexy for me). The order of this long list of arguments against artificial copies of me in game (puke) changes from day to day. One development is permanent and it astonished me: when my female char is in cold regions then I put warm clothes and shoes on. I fully agree: playing female, cross-dressing, robot, ghoul, child, dogmeat or what else does not mean that you are pervert, virgin, loser. It can mean a lot: curiosity, exploratory spirit, creativity, empathy, imaginativeness ... or best of: just for fun. If someone does not want to play in a different role or with a female char then its okay - but I would ask him why - maybe he is anxious and needs help.
