zegh8578
whenever i scroll up, and my pointer flies over the X, the X is hit and the browser shuts down this has never happened before, but from yesterday on, its happening almost every time i click the scroller with my mouse.i move the scroller UP, my arrow hovers above the X, and my browser window is shut down as a result. whenever i try this in a controlled manner, i cannot replicate it. i try to click the mouse button down, move the arrow over the X, and release the button, nothing happens.at no point, do i doubleclick, or in any way actually click the X, but somehow the X registers having been activated, and the window shuts down. its really getting on my nerves, as i end up shutting window after window, forum browsing, youtubing, etc, every time i scroll up a bit, poof, i shut the window down :( could it be hardware? dust inside the mouse or something? thats making it click, whenever im not actually clicking? Illiad86
It could be your mouse is dying or you could have some strange virus I've never heard of. If you have a spare mouse, I'd try that.
hoofhearted4
if you cant solve it. you could set it to verify when you close it. better that popping up then your window closing out
CommanderCrazy
Sounds like a joker virus to me. If you cant find it then instead of scrolling click and hold middle mouse.
zegh8578
thanx for the replies. it doesnt happen constantly, but often enough:i just noticed that the arrow doesnt have to be in contact with the X at all, it merely assumed that cus it was the only thing that made sense to me just now, i simply scrolled up a tiny bit, and the browser window shut down as soon as i let go of the mouse button. im doing a little virus search now, just to see if i have anything suspicious. strange that nobody recognizes this.im gonna report back what i find out, in case someone else gets a similar issue. zegh8578
nothing came up on virus scan... im gonna hope it has to do with the mouse being dusty on the inside, and registering clicks it didnt do or something... :I ill just try to use the mouse wheel more instead :D
slimhouse
In Windows XP (Win 7 not sure but will be there) if you go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - Accessories - Accessibility - Accessibility Wizard there you will find Windows built-in components for the movement impaired (disabled users) I think this has a function where just moving your mouse over an item / window ...will ~open / close / start said item as some disabled PC users are so physically challenged that even clicking a simple mouse button is impossible for them. Just below this Wizard is the ~Accessibility Manager (hearing / movement / sight) impaired. Dont config them! but they could be the source of your problem as some virus writers like to play games... like the 'ole 'Monster virus' that played a load monster roar every time you pressed the (letter) 'M' key.
