UntouchedShadow
I've got the notorious low-res texture issue and have had it for a while. I've tried so many different methods and fixes to try and get my game to look normal and have had no luck with any of them. Disabling texture streaming is the last suggestion I've been given that I can try before I'm out of options and give up. Thing is I have no idea what I have to modify within the .ini files to do just that. The idea was suggested by someone in an older thread on here but they never quite specified how to go about disabling it. Anyone here able to give me the run down? JimmyRJump
To my (limited) knowledge, you can't turn it off since that's the way the game introduces textures since version 1.4 or 1.5...
NJWRIDE1979
I wish there was a way to completely disable Texture Streaming too as it is bugged to the max on Fallout 4. All the time I get low res textures/skins/everything and either have to exit and reenter the building (if indoors), fast travel to the same location and endure an unneeded and excessive load time (if outdoors) or most often save the game and quit and restart (as the other methods only work 25% of the time) This is utterly ridicuolus. The so-called fixes out there only make the game up to take half an hour to load a level and STILL the textures more often than not are low resolution (and I use the Bethesda HD Texture pack + Nexus HD Textures as I have a GTX1080) so having the textures look like a friggin 90's game half the time and having levels take up to half an hour to load is unnacceptable. But I wouldn't expect anything else from Bugthesda. I doubt this will ever get fixed, unless Bugthesda releases the source code for the community to fix it, as Bugthesda is on it's next cash grabs as publisher of Wolfenstein II, The Evil Within II, and the Stand-Alone DLC of Dishonored II. Which will be laden with bugs preformance issues, stability issues and draconian intrusive DRM. BEWARE BUYING ANYTHING DEVELOPED OR PUBLISHED BY BUGTHESDA! It would be fantastic, if someone skilled in Fallout 4 modding can make a mod for the Nexus, that can bypass Bugthesda's flawed texture streaming and eliminate it altogether. I would accept longer load times if it means getting proper textures 100% of the time! Edited July 15, 2017 by NJWRIDE1979
StarMystyk
I read something about it somewhere yesterday, as I have a persistant annoying distant terrain issue, but there's no known fix for it. But, as usual during searches I get results for blurry or rainbow textures, things I would prefer over this annoying blue terrain that happens whenever I load from an interior to outside. I've enough vram (8gb) and ram (16gb) so I don't know what's going on. Anyway, it was another forum that someone posted an ini setting to disable texture streaming but at a cost. That cost is low res textures on all objects all the time. Things were good back before one of the patches that introduced all these problems - blurry low res textures, rainbow textures, my blue issue. It's the only game I have issues with :(
