Concerned about mod content

I love the Elder Scrolls, in fact I love RPGs in general, but Oblivion and Skyrim are my favourite. It saddens me to see these great works of art by Bethesda being used as a playground by modders of questionable "tastes". I'm a hot-blooded male and I have no problem with nude skins or even the CLS mods. ( although there is plenty legit porn out there without turning this great game into a porno, ) What I do object to is mods like the latest School uniform mods being allowed my moderators, even getting endorsements on the Oblivion nexus, what's wrong with people???

I was also shocked to read a post in the forum where someone openly asked for naked children to be modded "Just for realism".

I think the moderators need to put their collective foot down on this sort of thing. I wonder what the good people at Bethesda would have to say?

You have no right to object to other people creating the mods they wish to use. You are not harmed or injured in any way by their existence.

The mods are completely optional and you are in no way required to use them, so simply avoid the content you don't like.

I agree. Too many people are jumping on the moral high-horse these days. Now, that said, child porn is a different thing, if a member of these sites explicitly asks for a nude children mod or something of that ilk, report the mod/comment, and let the staff deal with it. They may or may not agree with you but without user reporting legally questionable stuff, the moderator team is pretty much powerless and they are volunteers and do not actively browse the site for content that violates the ToS.

Maybe I have no right but the moderators do, it's their site and it's up to them what is posted. If you condone this then you are part of the problem, don't you care about child safety? It's a sick world out there full of sickos.

whatever, if you dont like a mod you dont download it... you do not rant about it, nobody is pushing it down your throat. I do agree the children nudity suggestions that you say people made (havent seen any such suggestions) are wrong, everything else falls under what i just said. Edited by Wraithofdoom

Clearly those are the mods the people want.

The "enhancement" mods are often poor quality and bring nothing special IMO.

The Nexus hosts the mods and orders them by popularity. Clearly people find the adult mods to be of more valuable content than what you like. A quick internet search showed that over 70% of American's look at porn online today. That makes it the majority and not some niche or sicko fringe.

I'm only annoyed* on the basis that they're not more properly vetted for tagging as 'adult' and, most importantly in regards to that, that turning off 'show adult content' doesn't completely remove them. When I check that box it's because I want that crap out of the damn way so I can only see things like Skyrim HD, not because I need to give myself special permission to open them up. That's the option I want.

*kinda

People are going to DL what they want. You may not like all the nude/sex mods but obviously many others do and that is why they rate so highly. I don't mind a few realism mods that portray the races naked but I find the huge breasted females, the massive 'endowed' males and the modern fantasy clothes a bit juvenile. How do I deal with these mods and others I don't like? I don't download them. If other people want to use them, who am I to say otherwise. If i am looking for good mods that don't include the porn and male teenage fantasies I just go to the Nexus page, open the Files tab at the top of the page click the Top 100 files and choose the Most Endorsed Files (non-adult). That gets all the good files that I want without the fluff. Complaining that there is too much sex and porn in games like this is rather pointless. Many people like the sex and nudity. Think about it like this. If Bethesda or whoever made the games impossible to add the sex and nudity, fewer people would buy the games, they would not get near the mods and we would all suffer.

Moral high ground? What's moral about depicting children in sexy clothes like the schoolgirl uniform on the Oblivion site and now schoolgirl clothing on the Skyrim site? It's sick.

The moderators don't vet every upload? Then they are not doing their job properly. The saddest thing is that people endorse these mods....go figure.
