RedCaptainJackR
(Sorry if this has already been answered.) I decided to go back to playing Special Edition and I came across a problem. Skyrim Special Edition With or Without mods can go to the title screen no problem, but when I click new game, The game crashes. So I decided to use Papyrus Logging to find out what is causing the crash, only to find out that it's coming from the game failing to load up DLC files. (Such as Serana which mind you, I haven't done Dawnguard yet.) I tried having Steam verify the integrity of the files only to find out, that nothing was missing. If it was from the mods, it would be one thing, but it crashes even without mods. Here's the papyrus log I got.
LeddBate
This happens when you try to start a new game? Feels like a possible game (not save or mod) corruption. If you're willing to give up any saves you have, my advice would be to clear your Steam cache and re-download Skyrim SE. But before you do that, wait a bit and see if someone else chimes in here with advice that does not require you nuking your game from orbit. Edit: Long shot. Check to see if your .NETframeworks are up-to-date. Edited February 27, 2017 by LeddBate
RedCaptainJackR
This is odd. I try to reinstall the Visual C++ 2015 version and it says that it already exists, yet when I go to the control panel, it's not there. I've got 2005 original up to this year. Without of course a 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
MelC12345
Looks like the only choice is to delete the entire folder from skyrim se after you successfully uninstalled sse..it happened to me a year ago, but I had to reinstall all mods carefully to make sure everything is safe. Hope that works

RedCaptainJackR
You'd think that the mods wouldn't affect the game itself even when going vanilla since my mods are all in mod organizer.
PeterMartyr
I read your log, the DLC are loading, your full of crap, you have no what your talking about. [02/24/2017 - 03:30:26AM] Cannot open store for class "DLC1testPhilVortexSCRIPT", missing file? [02/24/2017 - 03:30:26AM] Cannot open store for class "dlc1testPhilVortexTrigSCRIPT", missing file? [02/24/2017 - 03:30:27AM] Cannot open store for class "DLC2BenthicLurkerFXSCRIPT", missing file? That means DLC are loading & it having a problem with some property values. & those warnings are generic, I get them too, save to ignore. But free feel to do what you think is best. RedCaptainJackR
Sorry that I messed up. I don't completely understand Papyrus' logs. I wouldn't have created this topic with my log if I knew what It meant. I even Googled the Papyrus log and didn't get any result on what it meant. But if the game is reading the DLC, then why would it crash whenever I go to select New Game, even without mods? Edit: I decided to try deleting the BSA and ESMs for Skyrim Special Edition and Verified the files. After it downloaded all of them again, I start the game and the same thing happens. Jeygramm
i got a similar problem and tried to reinstall everything looks like theres a problem with either the modloadorder or a mod that corrupts the game if u try runnig it with no mods after reinstalling it should work i think and then start to mod with fresh downloaded files and check step by step after installing a mod by starting the game and see if it works
