phobrek
Hi - wondering if anyone can help me. I've got a number of mods installed, and one of them replaces the original boring invasion of the beseiged Kvatch with a much better, more difficult version. Some high-level mobs running around, things on fire, all good fun. Finally I get into the castle to rescue the Count, and the captain (I forget his name) and his two buddies help me clean up the main hall. He then tells me to go rescue the Count, just as in the original vanilla version of Kvatch. So I run up the stairs to head into the back of the castle, but... there's no door. It's walled off and colored black (not completely black... there's a texture there). So I'm baffled as to what to do next. I've no idea which mod has done this Kvatch conversion (which I love btw), so here's the list of possibilities: Francesco'sKvatch Aftermath 6.3Unofficial Oblivion Patch??? So, hm, I'm not sure. I figured it was part of Kvatch Aftermath, but looking at the comments about that mod, it seems only to affect post-siege Kvatch? Help! Thanks! Vagrant0
So, hm, I'm not sure. Thanks!I believe that particualr mod, or atleast some of those mods say that it should only be activated after you've completed the siege of kvatch, this might be why. phobrek
Hey, thanks! I ended up turning the mod off, and then went back in to the city. At this point, I marveled that despite my messing around, the game did what it could to keep things running. Jauffre came out of the temple, and I led him to his destination. But my quest - to free the Count - was still nagging at me in the quest tab. I returned to Kvatch, and found the gate to the castle shut. So I went into the church to use the passage, but it was deserted, and the passage no longer existed. I hoped to find the Kvatch captain, but he was missing in action. Meanwhile, his two buddies were still around, and ready to help me in any way possible. I turned the mod back on, and found the way to the castle clear; I entered it and again found that the way to the Count was blocked. Ok, no biggie. The main quest is still in gear. And then... well, see my new post in this same forum "Why... won't... you... DIE!" Thanks again for the help!

nosisab
If is what I think, the count body is just lying on the floor, pretty charred so it is not well seem. PS. The corpse is near that stairs leading to the blocked path, in the same hall where tha Cap. Savilian Matius ask you to find him.
chris 07
What??? He should be in his room...and his body should not be charred...
nosisab
Chris07, this is true in the vanilla Kvatch siege quest, I was talking about the modded one, as the new KA version allows doing this quest from beginning, fully revamped, and seems it was the original reason of the post, and I understand the problem as I too had some trouble figuring this. phobrek
Thanks, all of ya. While my character will never know the fate of the Count first-hand (I've played this before w/o the mod, so I remember the vanilla version), I've finagled my game to the point where I was still able to continue the main quest. I did have a pair of naked Kvatch soldiers following me around as a side effect ("Why... won't... you... DIE!"), but that's been resolved now as well.
