cmaesing
Gents: Am playing v 1.9.4.0 with all DLCs installed. After playing some 4h or so a few months back, I decided (after having enjoyed a heavily modded Fallout 3 as well as Skyrim) to modd Fallout 4 and continue from where I had left. A long story short: I installed a couple of the top 100 mods as recommended on the Nexus via NMM only (no manual mods), v 0.6.13. The load order was verified via the latest LOOT version, and there are no error messages. Fallout 4 starts all right, but once I am in game, it CTDs after max. one minute. My rig is fine to run the game (W7 64, Intel i7 @ 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 970M @ 3 GB VRAM), but I fear there might be a clash of one or the other mod. Since - as mentioned - all mods are from the top 100 only, I am hoping someone will be able to assist. Thanks in advance!
poli13
I am haveing the same problem as in random (not realy) crashes but it's only happen after I leave drumlin cafe after helped Trudy and after that no problem till I reach Diamond city. If by some miracle I can enter the city before it's crash in front of the game I get unlikely Valentine quest and after trying to head to the vault he is held in I get crashed right after I enter trinity plaza. I deleted all of my mods (non of them alter textures in aniway I only yous darker night and true storms) and it worked fine. Befour 1.9.4 there whas 0 problem like this for me so I guess bets hige rez patch (that I don't even yous) broken my game. My computer isn't even old it's one and a half year only so I don't get it why fallout is THIS heavy. My only hope now is completly delete fallout even from steam and then redownload it and hope it's fix it. As I said I don't even yous retexture mods or anyhing I only yousd vivid landascapes and optimalized textures mod to make it less heavy so maybe this new patch wiht my old install caused corrupted zones or something to make it crash on those places. poli13
experimentally uninstall truestorms might be overloading your systemrealy? I hope that will be the problem becouse currently I am busy downloade fallout 4 after I completly deleted it incase if it's one of those rare corrupted zones thing some people been talking about. I hope thet is the only problem becouse I never had a ctd fest like this. I never had problem entering diamond city or trying to reache swans pond before of this patch but now I get ctd in those places (well mostly around trinity plaza ,agan I never had ctd problems around that place before). Btw if I would yous vivid landascape mod and the optimalized vanilla textures mod would that help any? (both of them lessen the V-ram need of the game) Edited February 26, 2017 by poli13

JimmyRJump
Try ENBoost. It allows the game to use system RAM as V-Ram. That GTX970M doesn't have enough V-RAM and chokes on the game...
cmaesing
Thanks, gents, for the helpful replies. I have - as recommended - test uninstalled True Storms, and that seemed to do the trick for me. My rig is two years old after all! I will also give ENBoost a try: I am using it successfully with Skyrim (although for memory gain purposes, not to use any ENB presets), so I'd hope it'll do the same trick for Fallout 4. I'll post here again if any follow up. Have a good day everyone!
cmaesing
Fyi, uninstalling ANY mod didn't help in the end. Turned out to have been an issue of 2 corrupt files, that were replaced via "verify integrity of game files". Ended up in a more than 4 GB download, so seems some important files were affected. Now slowly re-installing mods. Running fine so far. My guess is that I probably didn't have to uninstall the mods in the first place, and that "verify integrity of game files" would have done the trick in the first place.Well, another lesson learnt.
