Athanasa
Due to food requirements for settlers (and the logical issues of having supply lines / materials and provisioners popping in and out of VR) might it be better for the Settlement to actually be more like a player home or something? Then again, I've got it into my head that you want this to be pre-war themed. So all the struggles around food and water from normal settlements shouldn't apply. montky
@kavorka99 It could be possible, with existing pastiche of modsor soon to be made available mods, not for PS4, though perhaps on PC. Pre-war, food rationing had been happening since the 2050s...so, yeah, scarcity would still be a thing. If folks want to have settlements prewar, then thats what they're looking for. method:you'd use Any Door to Anywhere, New Lands, and new lands/PreWar Homemaker mods...make your new lands as a pre-war area...if you wanted to make your pre-war not settlement settlement in downtown Boston, that might take a fair bit of work to remake it.flipside, if that new-lands area was a community asset, thena lot of other modders could "time-travel" in their games hehe.it will speed up the generation of new mods. you'll want the NPC's in the New Lands to be pre-war only,so as they talk about pre-war-y stuff instead of how tough life is yada yada.although, we could always blame the bodgy simulation on the Sole Survivors mind having been damagedfrom the thawing process and the Kellogg adventure hehe. make the door a conditional from a terminal.make the player position change after they sit, and cross the 'invisible door' or satisfice the condition for entry of the door after a timer...same on both sides of the new-lands. maybe, in the "virtual" reality,it's got an "arch" and homage to the holodeck, there's a grid with the yellow lines, some neonsigns and a timer. It's a lot like FO3/FONV mods "fallout Who-vegas" come to thinking of it... learning from FONV's Caesar Legion area, make a container for that workaround, so as your inventory is held "real-world"and your virtual inventory remains stuck in the new-lands area, that way you're not violating the Banach-Tarski in Survival Mode hehe.it'll be tricky to prevent a companion's inventory from acquiring new things from the new-lands...ba doopski, I like that as a 'infinite stuff' angle hehe. your settlement will show up on the Pipboy menu tab as "Other Dwelling" node.namebut will never be attacked or have synths or random stuff, and you can still assign supply lines... which will be a problem when you consider,'they're stuck on the holodeck'.you might want one of those 'caravans that aren't caravans' mods, that let you assign stuff that way.you might be able to connect multiple pre-war settlements to one another... hahaha. If you build memory loungers at other settlements, it might make more sense that other settlers are also in the pre-war simulation... you'll probably want a settlement building menu that sorts your stuff, tooso you can choose all pristine pre-war stuff more easily hehe. I hope this gives you some ideas how what you envisage could be made, Kavorka99.it would be an ambitious project, though if a few folks all collab'd, it could be done. Athanasa
Scarcity, yes, but not to the extent of farming mutfruits etc. Although OP may want idealised pre-war, rather than reality. For a start, the following Wasteland staples didn't even exist pre-war.MutfruitTatoBrahmin(Probably more.) Now, there are four primary ways to approach this.1) Don't have farming, set food to max or something by default2) Continue to use out of place Wasteland produce3) Remodel and retexture variants for prewar plants4) Use everything but the above plants
kavorka99
How about a place with unique npcs (using default settler dialogue) that doesn't require sources but you can change in a workshop? With chieldren and animals (cats, dogs).About the settlers complaining about how hard life is, everyone in every time era complains, it's human nature xD It will be a simpler version that will work nice in ps4 and it will be more than enough for me.Just with a nuka cola shop and red rocket gas station. Man if i had a pc i would make it my self :( Edited February 28, 2017 by kavorka99
AishaLove
I'm not sure how people think this would be so hard or impossible to do on PS4 Narco Lounger linked to pre-war Sanctuary. Could then customize pre-war sanctuary using all vanilla assets.
