Tamujiin
Loki, Dungeon Lords, ( you can find daggerfell and ARENA on an abandon ware site ) Two worlds, Neverwinter nights 2+expansions and patches of course ( play it online, people make there own adventures and worlds. ) And Fable, thats good too, For a good hack n slash open ender try fate and its expansion....the game doesnt really end, you just keep going till the monster are so strong you die all the time. ( and it could take months ). Then there are the MMO's Conan, WoW, ( duh ) Guild wars. Warhammer 40,000 also, its kinda fantasy/sci fi. I think the dark one said something about baldurs gate 3?????Might and magic 7 or something like that looked alot like Oblivion, havent played it yet though. I could go on and on suggesting various game titles, as i own most of what you want. ( alot of years collecting games, playing them through once ect ect ect. Dont ask! ) Then again you could start emulating games from the ps2 down to the atari 2600.....Arcade games ect ect ect. I suggest an abandonware site for those classic ULTIMA games, ( or you could find the ULTIMA collection. Then there are emulation sites....surf around my good man. Another freaken gem for a so so open ender is the wizardy, Might and magic and Eye of the Beholder series. There are 3 eye of the beholder games. 8-9 wizardry games, and alot of might and magic games.

AlexisFox
Jagged Alliance 2 was a good sandbox style game. Make your own character, hire a bunch more, there's a main quest but when you drop into the game zone you can go and do whatever you want. It's a military style soldier mercenary combat game but it had good humor in it and played it for hours. I believe there's even a forum dedicated to several mods and people who mod it. It's old though, this game was out when Baldur's Gate 2 was still heavily played online in Gamespy. Which of course, I recommend Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 as well
Nick98z28
some great oldschool games are Dragon Warrior, the original "Y's" game from long ago, "Dungeon Master" is a timeless classic, Sword of Vermillion, Dragon Warrior, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore. Suikoden and Suikoden 2 are well worth your time. Saga Frontier was for the psx as well and was unique because you play as alot of different characters, i think almost 15 and all of their storylines meet up at some point. Darkf0rge
I am really surprised no one has mentioned the original fallout games yet. Personally I liked Daggerfall much more than Morrowind. I really hope Beth bring back the complexity in their next TES game, as they have been consistently "dumbing it down" for a while now. At least in the PC realm we have the modding community to fix that though
Halororor
Dungeon Lords is another new ORPG I found. Most reviewers had mixed feelings on the game, but I like it a lot, despite the fact that it has a bit of an unfinished feel to it.
Monolithic0117
Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, KoTOR, Fable, and Neverwinter Nights, just to name a few I liked. Mass Effect would have become my favorite RPG if not for the recycled environments and building layouts, so BG still holds that position.
xaechireon
Is Mount & Blade considered a RPG? I only played the demo, but I thought it was rather fun and open ended.
del1diablo
Mount & Blade is completely open, but in the end the problem is that what you actually can do it limited. And why has nobody mentioned Fallout 1 & 2? If anybody mentions Beth crappy spinoff in this tread i'm gonna flame, simply because it stains such a name and series with boing so low quality.
