Items flagged as Stolen

There seems to be a problem with items getting flagged as stolen if your follower picks them up. I dumped some stuff in a chest and had my follower empty the chest. Now the items are flagged as stolen. So I have dragon bones marked as stolen. Edited by Baron Of Hell

Yes, this is a long standing bug. It only happens when you, personally put the stuff in the chest. Another thing you might encounter is if you have 6 or more of anything and throw it on the ground it will stay together. You can't separate it again and it won't correctly interact, anymore (you can't sell it). The game is full of these traps you have to work around.

ohhh.... You should try Daggerfall!

I swear, the game itself can be deadly, but the bugs make it about x20 harder!

It's the charm of the TES games. Just trust me: This is peacefull compared to what we had in Daggerfall. Half of the time I bugged in a wall and fell into the void. The other half I was stuck inside a monster who could hit me, and I couldn't move. Ah.... that game both test your sanity, and gives you houres of fun!

That said, yes. There are many bugs that has been around since Morrowind. If you have played from Morrowind and up, you know most of these and can avoid them. If you started in Skyrim ... well, save often and save over many saves. The golden rule of any TES games actually.

My pet peeve with this game is that it flags cheap items as stolen. ORLY? That lockpick is stolen? How would they know? And do people really carve their names into every iron arrow and every potato they have?

Yes.

I think this is intentional and I wouldn't be complaining about it. If you're smithing and you create a bunch of iron daggers and become over encumbered, you can simply drop them all as one (if you want to use them to get enchanting up, which is what I do) and grab them; then move to a enchanting table while you have them in the air.
