dismember is that really needed? i succeded without it

Except you can't hide geometry without it for one. And don't say skyedit or tesvsnip can, because it can't hide parts of a mesh the way partitions can, ony the whole mesh itself like a helmet, head, hands, feet, torso, hair etc. but not say.. the wrists, ancles, this is what you use the partitions for in BSDismemberSkinInstance.And if you have a model with multiple meshes this can be a problem. There might be other concequences as well without it, i mean you have what is necesarry to get the model ingame like shaders, bones and the mesh, but you will not get optimal results this way.

BSDismember modifier is the easiest modifier to setup. select the poly for the modifier, if you want another hit the +. change the modifier in Nifskope to the correct number and you are done with it. It's not like you do anything with the poly's once you select them unlike other things like making an _1 out of an _0.
