Mass Effect Andromeda Modding

So it seems like such a lackluster reason to be turned away from a game, but I cannot for the life of me get past that camera positioning/angle. It feels like a solid 1/5th of the screen is just your PC blocking your situational awareness.

Provided that Bioware is using the same/similiar game engine, whats the likelihood of a modder looking into changing the X Y Z parameters of the cameras positioning?

I know its been done in Dragon Age: Inquisition via this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/1474/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fdragonageinquisition%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D1474&pUp=1 so possibly half the work has been done already.

If you have an interest in doing so, you might try to learn how to mod it yourself. I think it will take some time before many authors will look into working on this game. :happy:

omg, if ever faces needed mods, its the female face on lead female

Good that there is character customization ^^ However, I think the eyes definitely need mods... they're just odd.

Sadly, like most games, there will be no official mod support, would make things so much easier.

So I'm downloading the Origin trial version now. I haven't started yet, but based on forum response the character creation is awful. I'm sure facemorph will be in high demand. I was hoping for something better then DA:I, but everyone is saying its a few steps backwards.

Quite simply, this game will be pretty much impossible to mod, without tools.

The good thing is it's using Frostbite 3, just like Dragon Age Inquisition, so though it's unlikely the DAIMod Tools will just work, they will make making the MEAMod Tools, much easier, due to the shared engine.

Modding will happen, and probably much quicker than for DAI, but many of the same limitations will exist, but so will many of the advances.

There's been work on a new DAI Mod Maker, which isn't released yet, so even that work may transfer to MEA.

I've read absolutely nothing about the game, as I don't care about hype, only what's actually released.

Just had my 10 hour trial, and I have no interest in the multi-player, and never will, so only tried the Single Player.

It was enough to get me encouraged, sure there's many things wrong, and Character creation is one of them.

Worse than DAI was, and a key modding target, Hair is better, though as always, styles are very limited.

Even Witcher 3, which is my all time best Action RPG game, got heavily modded by me, to CDPR's credit, every patch made half my mods obsolete, by becoming part of the game.

Regardless, the trial, barely gave enough time to get started, and has a story road block, which I reached in 6 hours, on a main quest only path,with full exploring as I went.

Restarting a proper playthrugh, I only got to halfway, in the remaining time, when the game just CDT'd on me, when my time ran out. That was bad.

Origin Access cost £4, and gives me 10% off game, so even the standrad edition is cheaper with a £5 discount.

Overall the best guide I can give:

Gameplay is a sequel to the first Mass Effect, which was my favourite gameplay, ME2 was the one I disliked the most, and ME3 wasmiddle of the pack.

Simple assesment using standard genres.

Where A > B is A Most than B

ME1 = RPG >> FPS

ME2 = RPG << FPS

ME3 = RPG < FPS

MEA = RPG > FPS (Provisional)

Certainly, I get the ME1 successor feeling here, and Story is so far so good, but that's hardly got going yet, more laying out the setting than got started.

If you are thinking of buying it at launch, get Origin Access for a month, you can cancel anytime (I did), but that only affects the following month.

The game will cost you less if you still buy, and you get 10 hours to try it, and decide, plus if you don't want it, there's likely a game in the Vault, you haven't played.

I don't consider the continued subscription, VFM for the games available, but is VFM for one month, for just the trial, and then you can play anything else, in that month as well, if you want.

I would recommend starting the trial the day before release, as if you like it, having to wait to play the full game, is a pain.

Gameplay is a successor of ME1? Ugh.. yet again I have to spend 200h only on fiddling with tiny armor and weapon bits. Seriously, that was painful. If i want to do 1000 aspect micromanagement I'll just go work.

^ They deleted armor/weapon customisation for your squad, so it should not be such a big problem for you. Ah and planet scanning from ME2 is back, and it's... even more tedious lol

Overall the game is a mix of ME3 and DAI for me, I have mixed feelings about it personally, especially when it's just bug fiesta for now... I hope they will fix them SOON tm :P
