Mass Effect Andromeda Modding

I just hope to god, people can create a save editor that allows hs to change our characters hair after we already started. I'm 15 hours in, and hate my hair.

This game does a poor job showing you how your character will truly look once in game. Even worse because of those god awful facial animations. But the hair color I chose looked perfectly normal in CC. In game, it basically glows neon and I hate it.

I also hope people find a way to change the skin tones. The only face model I liked, looks like a New Jersey spray on tan. Just like the hair color, depending on the planet she is on, her face almost glows orange.

Do you guys think a basic save editor where we can tweak characters looks will be possible? Every other game in the series had it. But I know this is a new game.

Apart of me is tempted to start a new game, but I know that will be foolish :/

omg, if ever faces needed mods, its the female face on lead femaleÂ

Â

Good that there is character customization ^^ However, I think the eyes definitely need mods... they're just odd.

Sadly, like most games, there will be no official mod support, would make things so much easier.

Oh god the CC customization is so awful and limited compared to DAI. The majority of the other models are hideous. As a woman, I feel so ugly and unattractive playing my Ryder. I know that not everyone has the same wants and needs when it comes to character designs. And I can respect that most of the models are closer to normal people in real life. But that's the thing, I am a normal girl IRL already. When I play fantasy role playing games, I want to be something I'm not. Most women I know actually feel this way, which is why most of us gravitate towards overly beautiful/ sexy character designs when cosplaying. It's fun. It's empowering. It feels good. It's escapesim. And I know not everyone agrees with that (I see people all the time argue they want to be able to relate to their characters and want to be able to create themselves in games). Which is totally valid.

But why not give us the tools to create the characters that appeal to us? That fits the needs of each person. DAI had these tools. The CC customization on this game is so limited. Don't even get me started on the horrendous skin tones, or the limited makeup options. And ultimately, the games boxes you in to the model types they chose to go with. You can tweak and make some of the models look better, but barely. Ultimately you are still forced to go with the basic look of the model. And for a role playing game, that is terrible.

As someone that refused to divert from default Shep, I fail to see the appeal. I'd rather see the lighting fixed, the odd UI bugs, the trembling animations, maybe add some more to the stiffy mannequins they call NPCs. Less blue, less brightness. Improve on control schemes.

I agree those things are important.

And to each his/her own. But I think the default Ryder looks hideous (i know subjective). Compared to the custom models, I think the default actually looks the worse when paired with the goofy facial animations.

Also since this game is so heavy on storytelling and this idea that you are your own Ryder shaping your own world, I think for some, having a character you find appealing - is a big deal. Makes you feel more like this is your story. I know for myself, I get a kick out of role playing. I like playing a bad ass girl that is beautiful and all the things I can't be in real life as a normal woman.

Again, I think each person has their own take on these kind of games and what matters to them. I'm more of a gameplay is king kind of person. Someone that thinks gameplay and level design matters the most.

But when it comes to RPGs like mass effect, I do care about the CC and character creation. But I understand and respect your point of view as well. I think all the things you listed is more important than the character models and CC stuff. However I do think a lot of people care about it, since this is such a story driven game. If nothing else, they should have at least given us the it options. That way those that care a lot about those things, could be happy. And those that don't care so much about those things, would be happy anyways as they just wouldn't touch it.

I def think the things you listed would go a long way to making things better.

Same thing. I wasn't so satisfied of CC, but after playing a while, a started to hate the way my character looks.

As a man, I feel my character looks like a teenager and a very stupid one, also voice and dialogues doesn't help...

There's something wrong in the face-form, eyes and mouth. This is not secondary, in a game that pretend to be an RPG, the satisfaction about the character is important.

p.s. that Peebee is embarrasing, I hate her. I've never hated an Asari before.

And if anyone would like, I can elaborate on a novel of issues, with details and examples, and even screenshots. I've done so on other forums/reviews. Normally I wouldn't waste my time, but I've yet to play a AAA title of this magnitude that is so clearly not finished.

Sure, go ahead.

So it seems like such a lackluster reason to be turned away from a game, but I cannot for the life of me get past that camera positioning/angle. It feels like a solid 1/5th of the screen is just your PC blocking your situational awareness.

Provided that Bioware is using the same/similiar game engine, whats the likelihood of a modder looking into changing the X Y Z parameters of the cameras positioning?

I know its been done in Dragon Age: Inquisition via this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/1474/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fdragonageinquisition%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D1474&pUp=1 so possibly half the work has been done already.

I'm pretty sure i saw a 'camera angle' setting in 'gameplay settings' on pc

I peeked the gay love scene via Youtube and it's much worse than DAO! That's not a love scene at all! Just a kiss and then it's done? And the game is using the same engine DAI used that made modding a headache? Ok, I am soooooooooooooo happy to save $$$ from MEA! By the way, I still have not finished my first playthrough on DAI :P No mod no game :P Skyrim is still my fav+ RPG though my humble laptop can run Sims 4 only LOL

None of the final love scenes have been posted on youtube yet. You get one kissing scene then a longer nudity scene after you commit to a relationship. I'm on my 2nd play-through now and I actually thought the final scene is better then any of the DA games. It's the hideous character creation that kills this game for me.
